Halfway stop enroute along the M4 - literally seconds off the Hungerford junction. Various items on the menu are offered with a gluten free preparation. On the way up country, the fish and chips were excellent. Stopped on the way back down and the rump steak was tasty but slightly overcooked and a bit chewy with not so many chips!... More

A very warm welcome and a lovely room. The bar prices are a little high but is to be expected in a pub that is a little bit more remote. The continental breakfast was disappointing considering they charge for anything cooked.

Stopped for dinner on a Sunday evening (when the menu is apparently more limited) - lovely pub, very friendly staff, we enjoyed our meal. Husband went for ravioli with mushrooms - beautifully presented and he was jolly pleased. I had fishcakes - great enormous things, plenty of fish so one could actually taste the salmon etc rather than them being... More

The hotel is only a couple of minutes from the M4 but does not suffer from any traffic noise. A warm welcome from the staff, and then we were shown to a very pleasant ground-floor room. A comfortable bed ensured a good night's sleep and the en-suite wet room had a powerful shower. Due to a commitment elsewhere, we did... More

We stayed at The Pheasant for 1 night and both the service and the surroundings were top notch. Every staff member we dealt with was pleasant and helpful and took every effort to make us feel welcome. We were staying there to attend a close family members funeral in the area and from the moment we walked in Kelly ensured... More

We stayed one night in one of the smaller rooms which was fine for what we needed. Very comfortable bed and room has all modern fittings. Very friendly staff who even phoned us to see if we wanted to eat on the night as we would be arriving late at about time kitchen would be closing (we didn't eat so... More

My boyfriend and I have dined here together twice now and both times have enjoyed the warm welcome from the staff at the bar, the buzzing (but not too loud to converse!) atmosphere and the excellent food. This evening we had the chicken liver parfait and cauliflower soup to start, followed by sea bass and fish & chips for main... More

This is a great pub and restaurant, very handily located just 2 mins from J14 of the M4. Great beers and very nice food in a real old/traditional pub setting. There is a more modern restaurant area as well if you prefer. All food is good but I highly recommend the burgers.

From the moment you walk in to this lovely place you feel welcome - nothing is too much trouble - the rooms are great for the price and the food is fabulous. Well worth the visit just for the friendliness!!

We booked for Sunday lunch via email on Friday and the pheasant inn were good enough to reply within the hour and book is in. The place is lovely and absolutely spotless. The burgers were a big hit, so much so that my stroppy nephew (4) demanded a burger like his sisters, when his sausages (which he did order by... More
