Having heard The Pheasant was under new management we went along to try it for lunch on a Saturday. We were warmly greeted with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Despite not booking (it is advisable as it gets very busy) they managed to find us a table. The wine list was extensive but very fairly priced. Something for everyone!... More

A lovely place but please don't ask me if I'm 'Eating with Us', If I'm going to eat, it will be with my wife, I just want to come in for a drink and if otherwise, I will ask; just a pleasant 'hello' with do as a greeting. Other than that, just as pleasant as usual.

Whilst driving down to the south coast we fancied a snack and TA threw up this place. It is very close to the motorway but also pretty quiet. There is a large car park at the back. They seem to accept dogs which we will remember next time we visit. We ordered drinks and the brisket sandwich. It arrived very... More

On a trip to visit relations we decided to dodge the motorway services and instead go a minute off the motorway and stop here instead. A really nice lunch in pleasant surroundings, served in good time and by friendly staff. What more d'you want? Prices are about what we'd expect for a decent gastro pub in our area (Midlands), so... I visit this pub regularly to meet up with friends. The food is always good but at previous visits the waitress staff haven't been very friendly or forthcoming to help. But at our last visit the waitresses were very friendly, chatty and accommodating any of our requests for more drinks etc. I would like to see the menu change more... More

We stayed here for a night in September whilst heading north via an appointment in Swindon, only one motorway junction to the west of the Pheasant. The rooms are modern and clean, I think we booked a small double which was more than adequate for the night. It isn't a boutique hotel and nor does it pretend to be, if... More

I booked a small double, the room was pleasant and well equipped. The staff were all friendly, helpful and welcoming. I had a meal in the restaurant, wonderful food, and they were very accommodating to the fact that I was a vegetarian. Would certainly return again.

We used our Good Pub Guide and headed along the M4 towards this pub with rooms. Day the clocks went back and a lovely sunny morning. Managed to book for 2 at 12 and we're delighted with wine and food. Will be back soon. Recommend room, staff, service and cooking.

This was a very nice, clean, warm hotel ! We stayed here for 2 nights in October for an exhibition close by . The rooms are lovely, clean and well catered with tea coffee and water. The beds are excellent with lovely duvet and fluffy pillows ! We had an excellent nights sleep. I know not everyone smokes but, if... More
