Don't be put off by my rating- this is a fabulous hotel it just wasn't really for us. The rooms are incredibly well appointed, so much thought has obviously gone into them, all the equipment you could possibly need - coffee maker, toaster, charming Morrocan style earthenwear mugs. There are magazines, a CD player, kimonos to relax in ... all... more

We stayed 3 nights in maisonette Zahara. The rooms are clean, spacious and exquisitely decorated and are ideally located within the historical center of Tarifa. The welcome bottle of wine and bottle of water are very nice touches. The maisonette has no air conditioning, which in October is no big deal, but I imagine in summer it might get hot inside.... more

Just returned from a week in Dar Cilla with my husband and son. This is our second time and now I would'nt stay anywhere else in Tarifa. Dar Cilla is a special place and is run by lovely people. Zoe the owner and the manager Martina really make you feel part of the family - without being too 'present'. The... more

We (male 30yo, female 26yo) stayed for three nights in this apartment. When entering the rooms, you directly know that the owner and manager of these apartments love their job. The rooms are completely in Moroccan style. Even the smallest details are taken care of. And then the beautiful designed roof terrace: It offers you a view on the strait... more

Dar Cilla has been an excellent choice for a short family holiday in April. We were a group of seven adults (young and old) and occupied the maisonette (Zagora) and one other apartment. Each with a small court yard or balcony and beautifully decorated in Moroccan style, The large roof terrace offers stunning views over the straights of Gibraltar to... more

As a single person travelling, just before the peak season, Dar Cilla was perfect. The ladies managing this story-book like place, were all wonderful. They made sure I could do all I wanted to do, and recommeded a wonderful guide in Tangier. The personal guide proved to worth the extra cost in a city that was hectic, full of energy,... more

Dar Cilla is truly an incredible place to stay. Our first trip to Tarifa was a weekend visit in summer 2008 and we were recommended Dar Cilla as the best place to stay. This guest house is exquisite in every way; from the hosts to the accommodation to the location. Since that first weekend back in June 2008, we have... more

Stayed in the Paloma apartment in Dar Cilla for 5 nights. Apartment was clean, fresh, comfortable, quiet. Moroccan style, opened onto a very nice, quiet, cool courtyard (shared). Also had access to rooftop which overlooked Straits of Gibraltar and African coast. Amazing during day or night. Situated right on edge of Tarifa old-town. Beach, restaurants, shops all walking distance. Owner... more

I have just come back from a week away in Tarifa where I was very fortunate to stay somewhere as lovely as Dar Cilla. My partner and I came across the accomodation quite accidently while contacting another hotel in the area which was full for mid August. Everything about our apartment and location was perfect and our hosts (Zoe, Martina... more
