Have a drink on the far end, but say no to Ayo's restaurant. Mixed beach of locals and tourists, very full, lots of umbrellas, chairs, etc obstructing true enjoyment of the beach but lovely none the less. Lots of good waves if the water is warm enough to enter. Topless is acceptable!!

If you are staying on the main road that goes through Nerja to the north of town and want to try this beach, bus only seems to run in the morning to the beach. It is a very steep walk back up hill to main road which took us 30 minutes in the heat so hire car best option. Beach... More

I live here in Nerja, two minutes away from Burriana Beach, and local opinion generally has it that these days Ayo's is far from being the best paella on the beach - never mind the coast!
