We stayed at the Monica for 2 wks in April, the weather was very good with plenty of sun after a few showers during the first week. This was the 3rd time we have stayed at this hotel and as on previous stays the staff were brilliant they work so hard to keep guest happy and wanting to return. The food... More

Our third trip to Riu Monica. We decided to book a late winter break 16th to 23rd March, thought we would catch a bit of sun. No change in the excellent service we have experienced on previous visits. When I got home I realised I had lost an earing, I emailed the hotel asking if by chance one had been... More

A great hotel with just a few minor niggles. First I know we dont come on holiday to watch t,v, but when the weather is not good it would be nice to be able to watch the odd show. At present only have bbc 24 hr. news and a second rate entertainment channel shown on old style sets. I also... More

Shame about the weather- not much to do when it is raining- pool cold outside- the sea even colder- check the buses- need to validate tickets before you get on even if you have booked an open return- went to Almenacar- still very quiet and more Spanish and Malaga- very nice city- plenty to see but no signposts where you... You will not be disappointed with the Monica if you are happy with a traditional Spanish 4* resort hotel. The public areas and rooms are spacious and well kept if a little old fashioned. The service, as has been said by all, is excellent. The whole hotel however does seem to be targeted towards the over 50s...which is not necessarily... More

Great stay in March 2014, together with warm weather. Large well appointed public rooms. Went on a half board basis and good selection of food for all tastes at both breakfast and dinner. Room very clean and comfortable and had a limited sea view on third floor. View was great with a reasonable view of the sea. Our room was... More

My wife and I booked a week of winter sun through Thomson from the 23rd March 2014. The hotel had great reviews and throughly lived up to expectations. We arrived at the same time as another coach with 50+ people in it so check in was delayed. The staff handled the rush efficiently and sparkling wine was served as we... More
