We stopped to eat at this place not only to enjoy the view but expecting to have a "parador" type of meal, which is expensive but very high quality in the ingredients and flavour. The bill did not disappointed as we paid 85 euros for 2 meals without desert and 2 glasses of wine. The main course was horrible! The... More

From the balcony you have a magnificent view of the mountains around Jaen. And from the area just outside you can view the Jaen Cathedral. We really enjoyed the pool and to dine in the grand dining room was very atmospheric. The town of Jean itself isn't very interesting, but you should stay here a couple of nights, just because... Romantico being the room at the top of the tower that can be seen from the pool and garden area and has a balcony with 'pet' bat that provides a further 270 degree vista of the countryside, well sized bathroom and four poster bed! Would have included a picture but (as usual) we forgot to hide our luggage so we... More

We stayed one night in the Parador with our two children (ages 12 and 6). What an amazing experience! The views are out of this world. Our kids loved exploring the castle. They also loved the pool, as did I. It's huge and the views from poolside are stunning. Other reviewers have described the rooms as "tired," but I found... More

Although the hotel is not strictly speaking all that old, it has been built in a style to match the castle next door ... and I loved that! The common areas had that medieval, gothic look to them with tapestries on the walls and suits of armor in the lounge. Yes, the rooms are bit tired and I could only... More

Stayed here for two nights in June 2014 as part of a Titan tour. This Parador is in a truly stunning location and although built to look like a castle it isn't as old as it may at first appear. Charles De Gaulle stayed here some years ago so it isn't a modern hotel and inside it's feeling a little... More

We stayed at this parador for just one night but I am glad we did. The building is beautiful and so is the view. Next door (adjacent to the parador) is the Santa Catalina castle. It is really intriguing to think of all the people that used to live and fight here on this hilltop. It's an historical location. The... More

I booked this thinking it was an old building but that is the castle next door. However, it has a unique position up on the top of the hill overlooking the city and mountains. The rooms are comfortable and we had a good lunch in the restaurant and in the cafeteria the next day. It is more expensive than some... More

This is average quality hotel (rooms requires renovation), service just OK. All this becomes less important when we think how great located is this hotel. The views and atmosphere of old castle are worth to stay here for 1 -2 nights

peaceful place to stay with lovely views. Balcony overlooking mountains and a visit to the old castle is a must also the cross at night. Breakfast expensive but good choices if you can eat 18 euros worth.
