Great location for visiting cazorla. The Restaurant is expensive and the choices are not many The facilities are really basic. No proper internet connection ( it is true that internet and other facilities are not what you are looking for in a place like this)

It is a Parador, so the staff can be somewhat snooty, but we found most of them better than average Paradorcrats. One must add that they were a little shorthanded. For the money, one cannot complain, the rooms are sizeable and it's atop the mountains right on the trails. If you want to walk or hike or mountain-bike, then stay... More

Apparently Franco and his cronies used to stay here when they were planning another way to hurt the general population. Nevertheless, this is another of my favourite paradores. Most of them are my favourite paradores, but I particularly like this one because it is so far away from anything, along a winding narrow road in the mountains, a road that... More

We are currently in residence as part of our circum-navigation of the Sierra Nevada. The drive from Cazorla is indeed approx 45min up into the wilderness. The drive is not for the faint hearted and includes some hairpin bends however the condition of the road surface is very good and on the days that we have been here they have... More

Nestled in the mountains above Cazorla, this parador is probably not quite up to the overall standard of other parador buildings but instead relies on its remote location and spectacular views to draw the crowd in. Alas it was raining on the days when we were here so we didn't go for any big trail walks and couldn't enjoy the... More

At the end of a long, winding mountain road stands this wonderfully situated parador. It looks better from the inside looking out, for the views are stunning. Once there you are a bit of a captive audience and in the wrong season you could be quite limited by the cloud, mist and rain as it is high in the mountains.... More

This was the third Parador on our recent trip and so very different. It is literally in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by mountains, covered in trees, truly spectacular. Lovely pool, we were lucky enough to see deer, wild boar and foxes whilst staying, seeing this animals roaming the mountains was amazing. There is no light pollution so you get... More

This is a 3 stra accomodation but being a Parador it has Parador prices. The rooms were big but dated and a little cold. The staff were friendly and helpful. Given it is a very remote area (which is what makes it so atractive) it means you're going to have your breakfast and dinner at the Parador. Breakfast very very... More

For anyone looking to escape the world for a couple of days, this is a wonderful location to relax and walk in the mountains. However, the facility may prove limiting in the event of bad weather so choose the time of year carefully. It is probably best suited to the locals who can book at short notice. We were originally... Cazorla was our 3rd stop on the Andalucia Legacyll route earlier this month, (April 2013) Everything was excellent. I could not find fault with the staff, rooms, both bedroom and public rooms, food and views. Nice walks with maps supplied by reception and a lovely local, and therefore inexpensive, chilled white served by Cesar.
