The hotel is beautifully positioned in an incredible Roman town with a panoramic view of the countryside. Far from the madding crowd and very Spanish. The beds were really comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, the saltwater pool was lovely and the rooms well appointed with plenty of space.

The hotel high on the hill was very nice, the rooms comfortable and quiet, parking in front if you got there early enough. Carmona is a small town and it was pleasant and relaxing. We dined at the restauant next door and had the hotel breakfast which was hectic due to a tour group which spent the night and was leaving that morning. A dip in the pool was refreshing as it had been a hot day.

A small group of eight of us visited for a week commencing 15th May to attend a week long sporting event. Carmona is a very picturesque and atmospheric hill top town with plenty of restaurants and bars - unfortunately for us, it was the week of the May Fair so most of it was closed making it difficult to find meals in the evenings. However, the ice-cream parlour (Helados Arques Los Valencianos)in Plaza de San Fernando was absolutely amazing, delicious gelato made on the premises (the tutti fruitti). We stayed at the Hotel Alcázar de La Reina, having booked some seven months before our stay. The booking was based on pay on arrival, however 1 month before arrival the hotel demanded all of the payment up front. Despite querying this in e-mail and phoning the hotel I was unable to get the hotel to honour the terms of the original booking or for the general manager to return my call. It was immensely frustrating that on checking out, that the advance payments hadn’t been credited to the rooms and it took quite a heated conversation with the receptionist to get it resolved - of course once again the management were absent. The hotel has nice rooms (although the bathrooms are a little tired), the staff in the restaurant (especially Antonio) are fantastic as are the breakfast staff. The management seem non-existent and the reception staff less than helpful. The Parador de Carmona hotel is certainly worth a visit for drinks or a meal with views to die for. We’d definitely visit Carmona again but would not stay at Hotel Alcázar de La Reina, their unscrupulous business practices left a very sour after taste.

Dear Guest, we would like to thank you for taking the time to review your experience with us. We are sorry to read that your stay with us didn't meet your expectations. Unfortunately these were days of high demand in Carmona, so we had to ask all guests staying during those dates to pay in advance. This is a very common practice for hotels when they are in high season. We are sorry that this has caused such a big misunderstanding, it was never our intention to make you feel this way. Best regards. Mirian Miranda (Front Desk).

Great hotel in a great location. Deluxe room was beautiful with stunning view. Hotel staff were excellent and always helpful. Plenty to explore nearby and only 20 mins drive to Seville. On-site restaurant served great food. Recommend La Yedra local restaurant, only a few minutes walk from hotel.

This is a beautiful old hotel. It’s in need of a little bit of updating. There was at least an inch of space between our out door and the floor. The staff is excellent. This would’ve been a five out of five except we arrived on Palm Sunday. There was nowhere to eat nearby. All the restaurants were packed out. We tried to go to the restaurant attached to the hotel and they said they could not serve us. Since the restaurant and the hotel are adjoined, we were surprised that we were denied. Our only choice was to walk quite some distance to find food at a subpar restaurant or drive out of town. We chose to eat at the subpar restaurant. The breakfast buffet is very good. Considering there’s no convenient restaurants nearby, it’s a great way to start your day.

Lovely relaxing hotel with excellent staff from housekeeping to reception, bar and restraurant. Great choices for breakfast including hot and cold buffet counters with lovely friendly morning staff. The air conditioning was superb as it was extremely warm when we were visiting. However, we had no hot water for 4 days and this was the only negative thing about the hotel as I think this should have been reflected in our bill. The outside pool was lovely as it was lovely to just chill outside by the pool. We have lunch and dinner at the hotel restraurant during our stay and the food was lovely. Carmona is a lovely place to visit with some lovely sites to see and local diners. Would certainly recommend this hotel and visiting Carmona.

Lovely place and the rooms are quite large, clean and nicely appointed. While we were there they had no hot water for 4 days. Breakfast has lots of choices available from cold to hot, pastries, fruit, yogurt etc. but the times would change without any notice due to various local festivals. The staff was quite helpful and the pool area and restaurant very nice although lots of pigeon feathers and steps into pool green with slippery moss. Staff charged a 10 euro deposit on a towel to take to the pool.

I arrived at Alcazar de la Reina hotel today May 8 after a day long motorcycle tour, such a beautiful hotel with history. Within a few minutes I was registered, parked and in my room. I had arrived after the restaurant lunch service was over but the restaurant manager brought me the plate of the day right away. Everything the staff brought was exceptionally delicious - a salad with salmon and shrimp, beef, and rice with mushrooms. A home away from home. If you are in Spain, come to Carmona, stay at Alcazar de la Reina, and eat at their restaurant Tabanco de Carmona!
