Recommended for rural relaxation. The outdoor architecture and the public spaces are thrilling! You really feel the convents atmosphere. We had a big room with a "personal" garden that was very pleasant. The hotel has all the facilities for a 5 star yet half of them are poorly maintained. It feels the places' glory has passed. That said, the price... More

The best thing about this hotel is its truly amazing location - set in an olive tree decorated hill overlooking the impressive surrounding landscape. It was breathtaking! However, the hotel itself had some more noticeable drawbacks. It has to be said that the rooms themselves, being as we were on the lower level, were very good - beds were great,... More

This is a stunning location, breath-taking, which makes up for a lot. Breakfast (delicious - meats and cheeses, breads, fresh hot food if you wanted, fruit, and make your own coffee which is a bonus, keep it coming!) had a divine view across the gardens, the Hacienda and the distant hills. And the music is hilarious - at first you... More

Nice rural location, if You are looking peacfull place to stay. If you want to go to eat to town, you need a taxi. Our room was very nice, but lack of the power of the aircondition ruins the nigth. It was too hot to get good nigth sleep.July and out side temp was more than 30 degrees C. Bed... More

Stayed overnight 24/25 April 2014. Was a bit worried about earlier posts on here..... Not easy to find, quite a way outside of Antequerra, you need a car... head for Eroski supermarket on Seville road out of town. Signposted from roundabout by Antequerra Golf hotel with statue of golfer on it. Just keep going up and up! Using our sat... More

We booked a two night stay based on what seemed to be an excellent offer for a 5 star hotel. I must emphasise that I have been as objective as possible in this review, basing my comments on the room itself, the staff and the location. Without being too discourteous I am obliged to say that I cannot believe that... More

Magdalena is a strange place. I wish I had stepped back in time to be reminded of the convent , instead I felt like I was in 'The Shining'. It could be amazing, but modern furniture and features have been added which means the charm has been lost. We had a pleasant enough stay, but there are little touches that... More

This hotel is set amongst olive groves with lovely views of the surrounding countryside, just a few minutes by car from Antequera. Our Junior Suite was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel is spotlessly clean. We thoroughly enjoyed using the small spa. Breakfasts were extremely good - an enormous choice of quality food. But the hotel only rates 4 stars... More

I stayed Hotel Convento La Magdalena in June 2013 for 3 nights for holiday. It seems that the hotel is built for people staying and playing golf at the near-by golf-course. I didn't go to play golf, but enjoyed my stay. Pros: (1) It's originally convent, and converted into a hotel. Naturally, the building is beautiful. (2) Room is pretty... More

Lovely hotel very peaceful and quiet. Well away from the main town a car is essential, not too easy to find but just follow the golf signs and its not too difficult. A fantastic rustic building full of character. Staff couldn't be more helpful, restaurant food and service superb as was the breakfast. Spa facilities were also good, overall a... More
