Our room faced out on our personal garden, and then over a valley and El Torcal mountain, covered in clouds the whole time we were there. I walked out of the door and picked a ripe strawberry. Very nice. We ate two breakfasts and two suppers. The breakfast was quite good: fresh rolls, cheeses, hams, fruit; you could request eggs... More

We live in Villanueva del Trabuco and visit Antequera quite often and sometimes walk to this hotel and have a coffee, and decided it would be a nice treat to stay there for the night. When it opened in March we booked a room. We were not disappointed, the room was really nice and peaceful. We paid a visit to... More

We took a suite, beautifully decorated and laid out. Fantastic private spa bath with everything you could need for your stay. Well stocked mini bar and a choice of pillows! The Spa itself was clean and welcoming, I took advantage of the treatments on offer whilst my husband played 9 holes... To top it off we had a excellent meal... More

Firstly, use the Grid Reference supplied by the Hotel for your Satellite Navigation, or you may never find it! It is outside Antequera, up in the mountains, down a long driveway. There is only one signpost, and that is right at the entrance, so, chances are that you will drive straight past and have to turn around. The drive is... More

We live in the vicinity and know the hotel very well. We book occasional nights (usually a Sunday, towards the end of each month) to really relax and unwind. The hotel is just so peaceful, the beds are amazingly comfortable and it makes a wonderful retreat, away from home. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

All the writing and photographs will not come close to actually being there....finding it is part of the feature.....when approaching and you see nothing other than stunning scenery with a Golf Course adjacent, you have to stop and blink for the double take. The Convent is set in an absolutely stunning location and you can actually walk to the town... More

This hotel is just wonderful. Lovely old building, with lots of interesting and beautiful spaces to while away time. It is so peaceful. The rooms are furnished in keeping with the old building, but with very large modern bathrooms. Great Spa, which I had all to myself on both occasions I went there. The restaurant is fantastic, and not too... More

We stayed here two nights as part of a cycling holiday. It was pristine with some stunning aspects but we felt that it had lost a little of the authentic feel in the restoration. The public rooms were grand and the restaurant had fab views over the valley and beyond. The Restaurant food was very good too. The breakfast was... More

My first room had a rainhead shower, but no hot water. So, I was moved to another room, which had no rainhead shower, instead offering a nozzle with a fixture that had broken off the wall. I asked for another room and the surly, unapologetic clerk told me there were no other choices. Avoid this disaster.

We had a 2 night stay at the hotel Magdalena. It was rather difficult to find as signs ran out travelling up the hill out of the town of Antequera which was well worth a visit for a pretty small town and lovely tapas. Beautiful surroundings and gorgeous hotel to look at. A little tired inside and could do with... More
