Had to stay over at Algeciras for the Tangier ferry the following morning. Read Lonely Planet and shortlisted two hotels - Hostel Marrakesh which looked as if it had been nuked overnight and this one, Marina Victoria, right across the road from the port.

The problem is not with the hotel but its rooms - the bathroom smelled really bad, the toilet would not flush, the tiled floor was dusty, the bed had a bad squeaked and worst - smelly sheets and blankets. At 55 euros a night without breakfast, a complete rip off.

The only going for this hotel is its location - very close to a supermarket and the ferry. It's a 5 minute walk from the central bus station where we caught the bus to Spain's best city - Malaga following our Tangier day trip.
