-The minibar was very noisy, I had to shut it down before going to sleep. - Very small windows, one has to keep the light on at all times. -the radiator leaked, we had to call the plumber twice. -the wireless does not work in the rooms - the lock of the room door was faulty.

We booked a high-end room in this charming hotel and we were so glad we did. The room was beautifully furnished with a stunning view of Peleș Castle from our window. Everything was clean and comfortable. We were able to park adjacent to the hotel which was very handy as otherwise it would have been a long walk from outside... More

I booked this hotel for a week-end as a present for my parents' wedding anniversary. Yes it was a bit more expensive than the average Sinaia accomodation, but well worth it, because they loved every minute of the stay. I appreciated the fact that I was able to arrange payment by card, although their policy is paying cash upon arrival.

This is the place to be if you want the full experience! Not only are you just a couple of steps from the Pele's castle and can have a great view of it, but you live in the old guard and servants quarters of the Pele's castle, beautifully newly renovated. Not kidding! Just look up some pics of "curtea de... More

As usual, I had no reservations but an idea of wanting to stay at Hotel Furnica from a 2008 guide book. After getting off on the train, I just kept asking the natives for directions as I kept hiking uphill with my 28 pound rucksack on my back. Well Hotel Furnica has been closed for two years waiting for an... More

When we come to see the Peles Castle from Sinaia, we prefer to stay at Economat Hotel, because it is part of the annex buildings built around the castle, in the same architectural style and we feel that we live in the same atmosphere. Not all the rooms are big, some of them are even small outside the hotel, like... More

When they approach Hotel Economat, many people think this is Peles Castle. Of course, it is not! Still, the hotel is very good value for money. A little faded beauty, but it is in a great setting, has a castle-style facade, and clean and simple rooms. You almost feel like you were in some Romanian version of the "Hotel Overlook"... More

After arriving in Sinaia and having the Hotel Marami screw us over on our booking, we quickly went over to the economat and booked the only "double" bed they had which was in an apartment. It was cheap by local standards ($60) The "double" bed was two twins pushed together, which we found a few times in Romania, but we... More

Sinaia Romania is the site of the Royal Family's (then the Dictator Ceausescu's) summer houses, now all turned into museums. Next door were their guest houses, and these have been turned into the strangely-named "Economat Hotel". Spacious, quirky rooms go for about E30-E70/night (breakfast included), either in the main hotel building or in the several unique outbuildings. All are built... More
