From our check in Gerry made us feel at home. We were attending a wedding nearby and taxis were organised without any hassle which was a great bonus. We had a pint in the bar b4 we left and when we came back. Great atmosphere. Bed was lovely and the room had a brand new bathroom. Would definitely stay here... More

We stayed here over Valentines weekend. Fantastic restaurant (The Grainstore) and great food. Lovely pub with warm and welcoming atmosphere. Having spent a long day in Dublin it was good to arrive at such a homely place and relax with music and brilliant hosts! Fantastic room, very rustic and original. Great cooked breakfast! As an avid beer drinker I must... More

The reception area lets down the hotel, the rooms are nicely decorated and furnished. The breakfast was lovely, freshly cooked to order, with yogurts, orange juice and lovely fresh fruit salad and as much tea and coffee as required. The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. We had a problem with the heat in one of our rooms which was... More

We stayed here for a wedding that was local. Nice and comfortable beds, good bathrooms and nice friendly staff who were more than willing to help. The pub attached was a good touch and made for a nice place to sit and have a few Guinness with some friends. Very well priced for what we got and the cooked breakfast... More

This is our 2nd stay in the Meath arms and once again we were not disappointed. We booked 7 rooms for 2 nights as we were going to a wedding locally and Gerry the owner/amazing host was so helpful, friendly & accommodating, going as far as helping us out when there wasn't a working ATM in Aughrim which was above... Stayed in the Meath Arms recently with a few friends. We were greeted at the door with a big warm welcome from Gerry and his wife. Our rooms were beautifully decorated and very clean. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. So reasonably priced and the breakfast was delicious.

A group of us attended a wedding in ballybeg house recently and we booked the nearby Meath arms for 2 nights. From the point of booking Gerry could not have been more helpful. When we arrived he was there to meet us and our rooms were very nicely decorated and clean, he was also very flexible with an early check... More

Every time I book a hotel/b&b I check the trip advisor reviews - as I used to think they were reliable as giving an overall rating of the place. Well in this instance I seriously question the previous good reviews and the 4/5 cleanliness rating!! Exterior of building looks well. Have to enter through pub, which is dark and everyone... More

gerryphelan, Owner at Meath Arms Country Inn, responded to this review

"Trying indeed" The style of the room in which Ms. "not nearly adequate" was staying is created by being furnished in distressed French furniture. The furniture is brand new and "marked" in the same way as all distressed French furniture. Our inn is over 300 years old and enjoys some creaks in the same way as others of that vintage.... More

We stopped in Aughrim on our Ireland vacation as this was where a good friend of ours grew up. We loved our stay at Meath Arms and were treated like family. The rooms were beautiful and we especially enjoyed the master suite with the beautiful updated bathroom. My other family members stayed in equally great rooms at the inn. Breakfast... More

Aughrim was the first night of our weekend wicklow adventure. It's a quiet but pleasant place. Have been to other quiet spots that were full of Wicker man type locals but here they were friendly. The Meath Arms is a lovely old house, well maintained with comfortable rooms. We got a polite reception and enjoyed a drink at the bar... More
