My wife and I stayed at Clone House for one night on our fifth anniversary. Our host was was Liam Ó Lorcáin who owns the house. He is a charming and erudite gentleman who made us feel very welcome and special during our stay. As well as being an amiable host, Liam is an exceptional cook and produced an array... More

We had received a Hidden Ireland voucher as a wedding present and chose an overnight stay, with dinner in Clone House. This is as far removed from a 'typical hotel stay' as you can get. Aine and Liam were fantastic and welcoming hosts. There are only four guest rooms in their home and ours was very comfortable, well appointed and... More

I like the surprising little touches they had prepared. The house is beautiful with wonderful attention to detail. The food was amazing. Great find. i will go back. The private dining is to be particularly recommended.

Staying at Clone House is a real experience. Do remember that it is a country house, so if what you want is somewhere busy, modern, with tv in all rooms and internet connection everywhere, then perhaps it is the wrong destination for you. However, if what you want is somewhere cosy, comfortable, with a lovely old style ambience, providing wonderful... More

The previous reviews are accurate and what else can we add. The warmth and hospitality from Liam and Aine, the never-ending flow of freshly baked goods from the kitchen, the delicious fresh and local cuisine, those little touches (sherry before dinner, afternoon tea with scones and the latest baking, the decanter of port in your room), the electric blanket on... Liam and Aine personify the very best in true Irish hospitality. From the moment you arrive, they go out of their way to make you feel at home in their beautiful and historic country farmhouse. Nothing is too much trouble. Despite the awful weather during our stay and the fact that we could not get out walking in the magnificent... More

My girlfriend and I stayed in Clone House on December 31st/January 1st 2014. We got engaged, and we couldn't have been happier to do it in such lovely and welcoming surrounds. Liam and Aine were such gracious and charming hosts, and the house was delight. We had dinner in the private dining room and I would recommend this to all.... More

My husband and I had the most perfect night away at Clone House. The House is not an architectural marvel but is beautifully and tastefully decorated by Liam and Aine and has a great art collection too. Being graciously greeted on arrival with fresh homemade scones and tea by a warm fireplace was the perfect start to a cosy luxurious... More

I am almost reluctant to write this review - for purely selfish reasons! We had the most wonderful stay at Clone House, hosted, graciously and impeccably, by Aine and Liam. The meals we enjoyed were amazing - fresh produce, lovingly cooked and beautifully presented. I cannot rate Clone House highly enough. It's ideally located if you fancy dipping your toes... More

We spent two nights of our 25th anniversary trip to Ireland at Clone House, and they were wonderful. Owners Liam and Aine clearly love what they do, and they do it very well. Dinner with our fellow houseguests (great people from all over the place--Dublin, France, New York, LA, Finland) was excellent and concluded with sherry served by Liam before... More
