We arrived at Mornington House after a long journey starting early in that morning from Copenhagen. The light was fading as we took the approach road to the House and our car developed a fault. As we entered Anne was giving a very in depth talk on history, which at any other time would have been appreciated. Warwick spotting we... More

We booked a front room at this lovely old house as it was the perfect distance from Dublin port. The house was warm and welcoming and Warwick showed us into a comforable bedroom with windows on three sides all snugly protected with shutters. Our bathroom was magnificent, complete with a bath, shower and armchair. Dinner was simple and delicious served... More

The grounds are very nice, the tea perfect, and the Warwick's reception very warm. We didn't get to sample Anne's dinner, opting instead for a simpler meal in the village, but she has an excellent reputation and the breakfast the next morning was the best we had in Ireland. I need to mention too that Warwick took extra trouble for... More

We created a tour of Ireland and stayed at Manor Houses and this was our last stop, and well worth the wait. The house was magnificent and the property took you back to an earlier time in history with a walled garden and a beautiful garden. The hosts were delightful and attentive, but did not intrude on our efforts to... More

We chanced upon Mornington on Booking.com, not realizing what a special and unique place it was. We were treated like family throughout. We were shown to our room as if it had always been our own - although I don't remember staying anywhere so comfortable and calm. The dinner was delicious - Anne really knows her stuff. Yes, it's quite... More

We stayed here for our last stop in Ireland before returning home, so we had stayed in several old manor houses before arriving. This was one of our favorite stops. The house is not a hotel, but a home, with family photos on the piano and owners who know the history because it is their life-story. We had a very... More

we enjoyed staying here, really quiet, spacious rooms and a very sensible approach to breakfast where the cooked breakfast is cooked to order. Ate dinner there one night and it was nice. The hosts are very nice people.

We only stayed for one night but it was a lovely experience. Warwick and Anne were wonderful hosts and we spent an enjoyable time listening to their stories and hearing about the house. We were in Ireland for nine nights and tried to stay in a variety of lodgings. This one was special.

To explore the real Ireland, it's ancient heritage, the beautiful undulating countryside and not be bothered by hoards of other tourists...the midlands is the place to be and Mornington House should be your base. It has been without doubt the most welcoming, friendliest, best food and overal great experience I have had in a very long time. The house is... More

The highlight of our trip to Ireland (we spend 2 weeks in the Midlands) . We could have stayed an entire week at Mornington. Warwick and Anne are so wonderful, authentic and welcoming. We could have listened to stores and exchanged experiences for days. Our three nights here passed so quickly. A warmth and wonderful depth of personal history going... More
