We did stay there for one night only, as there was no other hotels available. Well needs some renovations definitely, rooms are outdated and cheap looking. Lift was working up to first floor only (we were staying on the second), bedside lamp had stains (see the photo), bathroom like from the eighties. However for one night is just ok. Bed... More

Kerry and James kilcoyne run the worst most run down excuse for a b&m I've ever stayed at , was overcharged , underfed , shouted at ?, I was accused of stealing a towel I was subsequently charged via my card for the so called towel i was locked out at 2 in the morning until another guest entered with... Firstly the staff were very polite and accommodating of my late check in, but that's where the good bits end. There were a number of small issues which i would have overlooked if the water in the shower had been hot in the morning - but it was STONE COLD - totally unacceptable, especially as i was going for surgery... Mix up with booking and when explaining this to receptionist she was very unprofessional accusing my colleague and I of sneering at her!!! I was made out as if I am lying about the booking I made. I complained to Manager the next day who was very rude and instead of being professional just started fighting with me it was... More

I stayed in the Austin friar hotel on Friday 4th July, reception is small but nice and modern, the corridors needs some air conditioning, was very warm. Rooms were clean but needs attention, tiles in bathroom are very dated, there was small bit of damp on the walls and windows... Well needs new Windows. Beds was clean and comfy so... More

I stayed here for a night with my friend and will never darken the door again. There was no parking so had to keep putting tickets on the car in SuperValu carpark. Television was on the floor so couldn't be viewed. There was no iron or hair dryer. Had to request the one iron at the desk and use a... More

I recently stayed at this 'hotel'. Although it was very basic it was clean. We handed in the key as usual when departing. However, we were later charged e10 because they misplaced the key. I have since rang 5 times to sort this out but to no avail. BEWARE of their hidden costs aka robbery.

Stayed here when I was going out for the night in mullingar. The receptionist/ barman was polite and friendly. Room was basic, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very nice. No rush on check out. Overall it was excellent for price and location would definitely return.

Let's get something straight right away, this a 3 star hotel and it's good at being a 3 star hotel. People who book here, pay €58 for a double room including breakfast and then review the premises as if it's meant to be the epitome of luxury living are missing the point. It's not The Plaza and it doesn't pretend... More
