This was our first stay at the Abbey and it was a most enjoyable two days. We were welcomed as if we were very well known and dealt with efficiently. Got to our room which was overlooking the abbey. The room was very spacious. We ate in the bar the first night and it had a good atmosphere. The food... More

Enjoyed our short break. Staff very friendly and welcoming without being overpowering. Lovely location for a short break. No wedding on this weekend and the place was still busy with lots of local business in the bar restaurant - always a good sign. We had the dinner bed and breakfast deal so we ate in the dining room. Food was... More

Visited this week. The hotel was freezing and when queried the receptionist said the heat worked on a timer and only came on at 5 o'clock. Ridiculous in mid winter. The staff in the bar were most unhelpful. It was lunch time and my husband had our baby and 5 year old with him. As he was on his own... More

We visited this hotel on the 29th November for a family wedding. The grounds were stunning, the rooms were gorgeous. The ballroom where the wedding breakfast was held was decorated beautifully. The food was amazing and the staff that served us were very professional and on the ball at all times. Would recommend this hotel if anyone was thinking of... More

This hotel is very welcoming and has a very good lunchtime carvery. Plenty of very comfortable seating and a lovely homely open fire burning away. Just great. Staff very friendly and efficient. Parking very easy in hotel grounds. Prices very good value.

the abbey hotel is a hotel which has a nice friendly and comfortable feel to it. From the narrow high walled entrance you feel you are leaving the world behind. Its a hotel like many family ran hotels surviving the econmic down turn and kept going. The staff are friendly and the hotel is kept very clean. Food is priced... More

I stayed overnight, this week. I attended a fundraiser event in the hotel. Staff were very welcoming, friendly, efficient. They accommodated this event very well, all through to the end, which was late. My room was spacious, clean, large bathroom. Pool busy , but fine to do lengths for a while. Bar food tasty. Quiet, breakfast good. Would visit again... More

Arriving at the hotel we were met with a friendly receptionist who was helpful and informative. Our room was very old fashioned in decor, however this fit with the manor house feel so we were happy enough. After settling in we popped down to the bar for some late dinner. Initially we were pleased with the attentive service, but this... More

What can I say? Really relaxing visit, just what we both needed to recharge the batteries. The staff were really helpful & friendly. The food was delicious, compliments to the chefs. Although it is an old building, the quaint surroundings added to its character. We would definitely recommend it.
