Theres not a lot to say really apart from this hotel really hasnt a clue that were in a recession and people will simply not put up with paying €99 for a double room of this standard and in this location. On arrival to the hotel the reception area and bar is nice and what you would expect from a... more

Myself and 5 other family members stayed in the Abbey hotel for 1 night. This is our second visit to the hotel, last time was approx 7 years ago. I won't be returning. Three bookings were made for the three separate parties of the family. All of us paid a different price and the room quality of each was different.... more

we have stayed a few times in Abbey and our experiece have been very postive, It is refreshing that ,after the tsunami that was the celtic tiger ,a traditional family run hotel still exists. The hallmarks of a traditional family hotel are very nmuch in evidence friendliness , attention to detail and an endearing individuality which is missing in chain... more

So many people asked us why were going to Roscommon on holiday! But we really enjoyed this little town that isn't touristy at all. It's real Ireland. The Abbey Hotel was beautiful inside - a little odd on the outside, as the old part looks old and the new part is VERY contemporary. But it's all the same on the... more

We stayed here for 3 nights. We added an additional night after 2 and there was no problem. Ate in the bar a couple of times and the restaurant in the evening one night. Food and service was very good. Nice roomy rooms, only thing that bugged us was the hot water on demand in the shower. It sounded like... more

We spent a pleasant night at the Abbey recently, stopping over en route to the south coast. We had a very reasonable DBB internet deal and were given a free upgrade to an executive room by the very pleasant recepionist on arrival. The room couldn't be faulted with tasteful decor, lots of space, flat screen TV, comfortable armchairs and a... more

Good Location. Great Leisure centre. Very clean, though decor in dinning room was tired - as were the staff & food for breakfast. I tried all 3 offerings ea morning. The pancakes were stodge, the cooked breakfast - tasteless, fish - dry, poss reheats done the night b4. My hubby said porridge was best bet. Cold buffet minimum. Not many... more

We only stayed one night at the Abbey Hotel but had a wonderful time. The staff were very welcoming, upgrading us to the bridal suite as soon as they heard it was our Silver Wedding Anniversary. Very friendly staff, and excellent leisure facilities. We didnt eat in the restaurant and there were only limited snacks available from the bar but... more

This hotel is very professionally run. The facility as was the room that we stayed were very clean and well presented. It's location is fine if you have a car as it is a bit of a walk into town centre. Facilites are very good. Breakfast was included in the price we paid and was very good in terms of... more
