We (4) had Easter Sunday lunch here on 20 April 2014 having been a number of times before (it was always of a very high standard). This time - oh dear - what an absolute shambles. A new chef we were told. Poor quality food, odd combinations (spiced beef with pistachios and cheddar??? and no it definitely did not work),... More

Good evening Paul D. Many thanks for taking the time to write a review of your dining experience with us here on Sunday last. Obviously, we are devasted by the details, especially since you are a regular diner with us. I would like to reassure you that each and every team member at Tankardstown takes great pride in what they... More

We attended a wedding in Tankardstown yesterday and wish to compliment the establishment for a superb experience. The staff had just the right mix of professionalism and efficiency together with warmth and sincerity. The food was first class and attention to detail left nothing to be desired. The ambiance was delightful and despite being a place of grandeur one didn't... More

Stayed here in February 2014. We stayed in a lovely cottage just for one night with dinner. Had a fantastic time and would highly recommend. Best points: It's about 40 minutes from the M50 (N2) junction. And given that I'm only five minutes from that, we got there and back in no time! Seriously close to Dublin but very much... More

My husband surprised me with an overnight stay in this beautiful house for my birthday. It was a great experience from the moment we arrived until we left. We stayed in the main house - in Roisin - a beautiful room. We also had dinner in the restaurant - we were very surprised that it was so reasonably priced for... More

Myself and my wife stayed here on Valentine's night 2014. We opted for a cottage (no.3) which is based right beside the main house and closer to the restaurants than the rooms in the main house. With a cottage you also get full access to the main house (which has a bar and some very nice drawing rooms). Our cottage... More

I stayed here in the main house for a wedding and it was bliss. The room was the beautiful, the best I have ever stayed in and the bed was so comfortable I slept like a log. The food was excellent. I didnt want to leave the breakfast room! I love everything about this place and I really hope that... More

We visited Tankardstown House just after Christmas for a wedding. What a fantastic intimate wedding venue it was! From the huge elegant Christmas tree which greeted us in the entrance hall to the fine furnishings, the blazing fines, the friendly competent staff, the beautiful cloakrooms, the luxurious bedrooms, the excellent food and everything in between.........Tankardstown House has to be one... This was a very special visit - my only Son was getting married, and based on Trip Advisor reviews (not to mention the meticulous preparations of the bridal couple) our expectations were extremely high. We were highly impressed and had a truly memorable day here! Getting to Tankardstown is a little bit tricky - find your way to Slane village,... More

Stayed overnight to attend a wedding. A wonderful location whether staying in the house or the courtyard cottages. The house interior has to be seen to be believed. It had the most magnificent Christmas tree in the entrance hall. The food in the Brabazon restaurant certainly lives up to its AA two rosette award.
