This year I had to organise a large group trip and dealing with Gemma managed to make an otherwise stressful task extremely manageable. Everyone at the hostel was extremely friendly and the hostel itself is lovely, homey and warm and the surroundings were just beautiful- I only wish the weather was nicer so that we could have gone for some... Stayed here with a large group of students for a weekend. The owners let us take over the place almost completely, and were incredibly accommodating of us. They let us do our own thing. The hostel was very suited to our needs, with tastefully decorated bedrooms and a number of comfy spaces for our large group to congregate in. The... More

Visited recently as part of a volunteering excursion, found the place to be very nice and welcoming with all the amenities required. Lovely decor, good location, very pleasant atmosphere – would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for a couple of nights recently as we were attending a local wedding. Cottages were as described, comfortable (& warm!). Our hosts were accommodating and kept an eye out for us - we arrived late after a flight and had to leave early morning but it wasn't too much trouble. A lovely area as well, a good... More

We stayed here with 20+ Girl Guides in Dec 2014. The hosts were excellent and left us to our own devices when required. Bedrooms were clean and warm (it was very cold outside) and there was plenty of room for crafts/games. The Kitchen was big enough to cater for our large group. Great hikes in the immediate area which the... More

We were very pleased with our cottage - the parlour. The cottage was very clean and warm and everything we needed was there. We were attending a wedding which started early in the day and the owners kindly allowed us to check in early so that we could get ready.

We are just back from another great stay in the cottages of Slane Farm. These are an ideal base for exploring Slane and its surroundings. Our children we delighted to arrive to halloween decorations and treats in our cottage, before they set off on the Halloween trail up the 'Hill of Slane'. The owners/family always provide great welcome, supply local... More

Slane Farm Hostel is a beautiful, friendly place to stay. The first time I went there was in 2002 as a student, staying in one of the hostel rooms, and really enjoyed the high standard the place has for a hostel and the great atmosphere and helpful owners. This summer I travelled with my fiance and stayed in one of... More
