As the title above suggests the unfortunate is true... These bedrooms are situated over the fabulous Old post office Bistro, stunning decor, average but nice food..then take the stairs back in time to the B&B..such a pitty that more work and taught is not put into the accommodation end.. Damp! Single glazed windows-v.cold oh but a plug in heater is... More

Very disappointed with this place. The room was cold and smelled of damp. The shower didn't work very well only a dribble coming out. The bed was old and uncomfortable and the linen was very old. This place is on the main street and the traffic noise is unbearable. I was awake at 5.45 am listening to Arctic trucks rumbling... More

The shower didn't work to start. The sheets were grubby and bedding was incredibly old. The room was full of damp patches. It was an unpleasant stay. The staff were incredibly noisy in the morning shouting to each other and therefore waking you up. I didn't eat breakfast there once as I was so put off by the room. I... More

For €70 a night you can't complain about the fact that the room was freezing cold and the shower didn't work, it was slightly grubby and there wasn't even as much as a bar of soap, or that it is really noisy from about 6am. On the plus side the breakfast was fantastic! If I'm ever in slane again I'll... More

Myself and my husband have been looking for somewhere nice to eat breakfast for months now, we normally go to the same spot in Navan but just want different, we decided to head to slane and try the old post office. On entry we where greeted by the waitress who was very friendly, two other men arrived in after us.... More

This is a review of the restaurant, not the B&B. We enjoyed an evening meal at The Old Post Office. The food and service were excellent and efficient. We enjoyed our evening there chatting with the waitress and other clientele.

This place is run by some very friendly and helpful people and the bistro - vegetarian food available - is clearly excellent. We were very happy with the accommodation for two nights, but can understand how not everyone would be impressed. It was certainly clean - no ceiling mould as reported by others! - and the bed comfortable which is... More

Just off the plane from the US and a 3 hour wait to get a rental car we were hungry and tired. we lucked into the Bistro at the Old Post Office B&B. We just had sandwiches and fries and a dish smothered with dark onions that was wonderful

We stayed here for two nights while in Slane for a wedding. The rooms were quite small; the bed had an old, creaky mattress, the shade did not keep the room dark, and the towels were pretty worn out. The employees were quite nice however. And the hotel seemed clean. Not an amazing B&B, but a pretty decent place for... More

Good - The restaurant is good value with great food. We stayed in a double room. The first person we met was very helpful and friendly. She put a portable heater in the really cold room. Bad - There was mould on the ceilings. Bedding looked slept in and there was someone else's hair in the bed. The shower was... More
