Have stayed here many times and keep returning. Love the lounge and bar areas. Great for relaxing with a book and a coffee. Decor is quirky and possibly not to everyone's taste but I think it really adds to the atmosphere. Love the Tunnock's teacakes in the bedrooms too!

An hour’s soak in a green tea bath, a stroll outside afterwards to cool down and admire the view of the river, and a lazy half-hour in the outdoor hot tub, an hour’s facial with a really lovely local therapist whose name I forgot as soon as she began massaging my head – I was so relaxed I wasn’t able... We spent a day in the bathhouse spa and the main house, didn't stay over so can't comment on the bedrooms. As for the rest, see below The approach to bellinter is beautiful, the grounds seem to be well maintained. The house looks beautiful and the reception area is quite nice...that's where the charm begins to waiver. We had tea... More

Booked into stables for a wedding with my husband and 2 children. Within minutes my son was looking under the bed for "the wee thing that ran under it". My husband pulled the bed out and found mice traps, mice droppings a rodent repellant pluged into the wall! We immediately reported the mouse to reception who said it was a... More

Dear Sia129, We have been anticipating your review based on your recent threats and to say you did not disappoint our expectations, puts it mildly! I would like to put some fact to your fiction. As you were being escorted to the Stables Wing which is via a courtyard and adjacent to a Farmhouse, a mouse was noticed scurrying across... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night last week. We stayed in the East Pavilions, which was quite noisy. When people were coming and going from other rooms, you could hear everything. I thought the rooms were very nice, I really liked the style. It's a bit rustic/shabby chic, maybe this is not how it is intended to... More

We booked into Bellinter House for a night as we were attending a wedding in nearby Slane. We arrived around 11pm and checked in. We were shown to our room in the "Pavilions" section - you have to leave the hotel and enter this section through a different door. The room was quite basic and strange. It felt like were... More

I visited this hotel with my mother in law and thought I'd struck gold with the spa and also the stables accomadation. It can be tricky with this relationship as it feels strange to share a room but then slightly impersonal to have separate rooms. The stable was a lovely building though the single bed downstairs wasn't the best and... More

This hotel has obvious potential however it's a thanks but no thanks. Our room was located in the Spa block, was very sparsely furnished and was in dire need of some TLC. Our bathroom exactly the same. The public areas of the hotel are furnished with a delightful mixture of sofas and chairs which sadly require a thorough cleaning. The... More

Another to add to the rightful 3 star rating. This hotel was/is in some kind of administration and it shows. Decor is very shabby with a cheap paint job in the large bedroom in the main house (doors, woodwork, walls all painted the same colour - in matt emulsion paint??). The furniture in the common areas is literally falling apart... More

fine country house with nice grounds, rustic main lounge and bar area which could do with some work but in general very relaxing area and funky decor, room was large and comfortable, service was good in general, the evening meal however was very substandard and a let down, so overall good place to relax and get away from it all but...
