Have just returned from a long weekend in Ireland. Our first night we stayed at Bellinter House. Slightly eerie approach as it rained and blustery winds blew as we made our way up the long driveway. However a very welcoming warming feeling came over as soon as we entered the reception area. Our room was in the east wing. The... More

Recently stayed here for a quiet night away. Really enjoyed our time there - food in the bar, and the restaurant was very good - Our meal in Eden, was one of the better 3 course meals I've eaten, so exceptionally good quality from starter to dessert. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a foodie getaway, but would not... More

Recently had a girlie catch up here for a friend's birthday. Service was great and the food was lovely. Down side was no baby changing facilities apart from one in the function room that was locked. My friend was told she could use the floor of a down stairs room to change her baby.

Highlights were the friendly reception and restaurant staff, relaxing atmosphere and big fires. However the bar food was not good. Packet ham and packet coleslaw is really not good enough for a 4 star hotel! Our room was quite chilly so we asked for blankets which the receptionist sorted for us straight away. I forgot my toothbrush but they had... More

Certainly some positives so lets start with those. Lovely friendly and helpful bar and reception staff, lovely comfy beds and bedrooms nice and cool for sleeping. The place has a genuine relaxed atmosphere, perfect for lounging about and reading the papers for the while afternoon! We were genuinely so relaxed after the trip but it was expensive for what is... Very enjoyable weekend the only small set back was the lack of wifi in the rooms ! But in saying that It was a great weekend an we would go back for the home made brown bread alone! The restaurant and spa really were a highlight and we would happily return again

While it is wonderful to see such an important old house conserved and adapted in a sensitive manner the hotel is somewhat let down by being more shabby than chic... The decor is curious, perhaps eclectic is the style the designer was going for but such a style only works if everything is spotlessly clean which unfortunately Ballinter House is... More

Stayed here for one night just before Christmas. The bathroom was very nice with underfloor heating and a lovely shower. However the room itself was a little dull and there was a terrible draft from the window just above the bed. It was a stormy night and the draft made it difficult to sleep. The drawing room and bar are... More

I stayed here for 2 nights after working near by. We didn't know where we were staying before we arrived as it was booked for us by work but as we started driving up the drive way we were instantly impressed. We parked outside the front , although there wasn't lots of parking out the front. Luckily we managed to... More
