We were greeted with a very warm welcome from both Beryl and James on a showery afternoon in June, Tea was provide, and soon we were showen to a most elegant room, which included a four poster bed, a sitting area with TV, and to our amazement a further two beds upstairs. Breakfast next morning was a real treat. I... More

We stayed for two nights, my partner had business in Longford and I spent the whole of the first day relaxing, browsing around the gardens and in our lovely room. Please ignore folk who have complained about water pressure or the lighting, this is nitpicking! Water pressure might be a problem, it is up a hill! Nowhere is going to... More

Hidden away of the Dublin Road in to Longford is this gem of a hotel. A warm welcome from the very pleasant owners Beryl and James set the next 4 days up. A lovely room in the new part of the Hotel, spacious with a mezzanine floor with a TV and sofa. The bed was a magnificent piece of furniture.... More

Beautiful old house with tiled interiors that reminded me of paintings by Vermeer. A warm welcome from owners- dinner service was over when I arrived but I was invited to take dessert (complimentary I realised on checking out the next day). My room was on 2 floors with bed on upper mezzanine. It was difficult to tear myself away from... More

We arrived on a wet and dark Friday evening and were shown to our room (ask for room 6!) where we were met with our own cosy sitting room and a fire burning in the grate! Off that was our bedroom - beautiful old bed, very comfortable. Off that room was our bathroom. It really was magnificant. The service was... More

A well proportioned and very comfortable room in the new part of the house, beautiful bathroom with lovely towels & lots of hot water. I stayed 3 nights with my sister, and we couldn't have been looked after better. We had dinner one night, and this was the highlight of our stay. Highly recommended. I can't wait to get back... More

Our decision to stay here was last minute as we didn't want to travel back to home after a family celebration meal in the VM restaurant. Although the old house has being extended in the recent past Viewmount House has charm in abundance. This relaxed charm is further enhanced by the attentive friendliness and genuine warm welcome extended by our... More

This guesthouse was highly recommended in several books -- a star in the Fodor and was in the red Michelin. It was listed as an old Georgian house with five rooms, but it had a newer addition, where our room was located. I had asked for a ground-floor room so we wouldn’t have to drag our bags upstairs. The bathroom... More

Viewmount House is a gem. It is not just a B&B; it is a "home". When you stay make sure you take advantage of all the common rooms as they are unique and don't forget the gardens. The breakfast is superb and Beryl and James are two very genuine people. I think this B&B has to be amongst the best... More
