We were looking for a hotel close to the airport but in the country side. Through internet I discovered Moyglare Manor. It has been a unique experience. First of all it was an adventure until we could find the place arriving on a Friday late evening. It was our first time in Ireland and driving in the narrow street on... more

Stunning entrance through gates and up tree lined road to the manor house. the house exterior is pretty but not gorgeous. The grounds and views are wonderful with cows and sheep grazing in beautiful green fields. The interior is what you would hope for in a british isles country house: comfortable and fashionably worn out furniture, beautiful art, ceramics and... more

If your looking for a romantic stay in a traditional county manor this is the place. Its not for everybody particularly if you are expecting bland modern hotel rooms. The decor is great and four poster rooms are very nice in particular. Would stay there again. more

We just had our wedding here on the 5th of January and could not have asked for a more romantic venue. The staff were amazing throughout and all of our guests just loved the place. The decor is over the top but with all the 'clinical' hotels popping up Moyglare is a breath of fresh air. I can't wait to... more

Moyglare Manor is dilapidated decadence at its finest, and that’s not necessarily a good thing. This place is over the top. It is the full monty. If they’d let you come in the front door, you’d get an almost jaw-dropping confrontation. Too bad, because you have to go in the side entrance. The manor is situated in beautiful horse country.... more

One word of advice - if you are relying on the directions to Moyglare from their website, beware. The distances are given in miles (an indication of when they were written, or possibly in keeping with the age of the hotel!) and the sign to turn off the main road is so small as to be difficult to see by... more

We arrived on a miserable Saturday afternoon to this beautiful hotel. Straight away we checked up and were brought up to our suite at the front of the house. It had the biggest 4-poster bed ever. Nearly had to be lifted up onto it! We then went downstairs to the have some coffee and sat in the entrance hall of... more

This is a gem of a hotel. You feel like you have stepped back in time to a more civilsed age. I have eaten in the restaurant many times and each meal has been fantastic. I have stayed there on 2 occasions (one of them my wedding night as we held the reception there). The rooms really are amazing, especially... more

I brought my wife there for a birthday dinner. It was cold outside so I have to admit that the decor is fabulous and we sat by the fire before we ordered. However it started to go downhill from there. The restaurant was obviously busy but it seems as if the waiting staff (who are mostly non-Irish) were inadequate. Twice... more

Myself & hubby stayed here in April this year and had a truly wonderful break. This was our second visit and I can't wait to return for our third. The whole hotel is jammed with beautiful antique furniture, ornaments, paintings and amazing drapes, (the latter particularly in the wonderful dining room). The main lounge has a real roaring peat and... more
