I recently had the pleasure of staying in the Shannon Oaks Hotel in Portumna Co. Galway. Myself and a group of friends booked an apartment for 2 nights (friday and saturday). The apartments were spacious, clean and delighfully furnished with all necessities provided. The staff in the hotel were all very helpful and service was prompt both at check in... more

Just returned from a short break at the Shannon Oaks Hotel. We stayed in one of their 5 Bedroom Log Cabins for 5 Days on a Self Catering Basis. While we were there we went Go-Karting in nearby Tynagh, Kids Pet Farm and Activity Centre in Turoe (about 30 min drive) and other than that our kids lived in their... more

I stayed here for a couple of nights with some family and found the surroundings very pleasant. The bar was spacious and comfortable and the staff were very attentive, particularly the front of house staff. Slightly noisey water tank next to our room but this was dealt with promptly. Didn't eat at the hotel but the restaurant looked good and... more

Lovely short break away from it all. The hotel was great - we stayed in the apartments behind the hotel. Rooms were lovely and spacious. The apartment had everything we needed for the few days. The grounds were great for the kids, and they loved the leisure center. Food was fab in the hotel. Very reasonable overall. more

We were on a day trip in the area and called to the Shannon Oaks for something to eat, so cannot comment on the rest of the hotel. It looked promising when we placed our order at the bar, but when we sat down i started to notice how grubby and dirty everything was, my fiance ordered soup and when... more

My husband and I recently stayed in this HOTEL for a 2 night break. It was the worst place I have ever stayed and I would consider myself fairly widely travelled. In the first place they claim to be 4 star, we arrived on Tues and left Thurs and no one came near our rooms, the same litter was in... more

We stayed in the deceptively large main hotel (the cabins which also looked good from the outside). Our room was fine, if a little terracotta and the wall mounted heating a little noisy but overall it was comfortable. Ask if you would like the room cleaned more often than every other day - we missed this at the start of... more

We Stayed in this hotel for a stop off on the way to Dublin from Shannon, I have to say we got it at a good price so all together were pleased with our stay. There is plenty of parking, the hotel is very nice at first look with the reception decked out very nice, the rooms are a bit... more

Just returned with my family from Shannon Oaks, we stayed in a deluxe suite which was fabulous. The suites are well equipped with all mod cons, the bedrooms are lovely complete with ensuites and TV/DVD in both rooms with immaculate crisp white linen bedding. Had a meal in the Idle pub this was also fabulous with excellent service. Although we... more

Stayed at the Shannon Oaks in July for 5 days in the hotel with our 2 Children. Hotel room was grand as far as rooms go. Service was excellent, staff very friendly and attentive to Children. Leisure Centre was great and kids club was a good relief as some days the weather was bad. Good play area for the Children... more
