Stayed here on business for four nights mid-week. It was great value for money for starters. Breakfast was excellent, the bar food, while not low priced, was also very good. The leisure centre was really good and now crowded. The room was big and really quiet (I suspect it was a superior room although I did not look for or... More

Having stayed in the shearwater hotel before and having enjoyed it we decided to stop here for dinner as we were travelling home from visiting family. The restaurant which he had previously ate in was not open so we had to try find a seat in the bar which was packed. We eventually found some people leaving. We were seen... More

ONly had a flying visit so did not use all the facilities therefore am only commenting on the room and food. The hotel is a Carlton hotel so the standard is good - clean room and good breakfast. THe bar food was very good and a fair price. Staff at reception were very friendly and otehrwise businesslike. There is pleanty... More

Underground parking was free, 2 bonuses right there in this wintry weather and also there is no on-street parking at the hotel. Pleasant front desk staff, efficient and offered wifi codes without even being asked. Nice touch. The building is a typical 'Celtic Tiger' brainwave and is no longer a Carlton property - you can still see where the logo... More

We stayed at this hotel the weekend. We were greeted by a very warm friendly receptionist. Our room was spotless but very cold, we tried to adjust the A/C and heater dial with no luck however we headed down to the bar regardless. Siobhan, who was looked after our table was extremely friendly. Not only did she look after us... More

I booked a weekend away for myself and my husband and got a great deal, (there was a computer error, but the hotel honored the booking). We'd stayed there before and were looking forward to the visit. At first glance the room looked nice. However, when we looked a bit closer we noticed that the light was not working outside... More

Dear Esther M, Thank you for your very insightful feedback and it is very disappointing to learn of the poor bedroom maintenance and comfort and also the poor level of detail in relation to aspects of your dining experience. You can be assured that I will be addressing each of your points individually and creating an action plan detailing all... More

The public areas are huge, simply huge. Attention to detail leaves a bit to be desired, though. Staff at reception & the leisure centre was friendly & helpful. Service in the restaurant on a busy evening is terrible. The few waitresses are hopelessly overwhelmed. Rooms are clean, a bit small & out back they overlook the abandoned building site next... Dear KPDH, Thank you for taking the time to forward your feedback and great you enjoyed our very popular Steak on the Stone dish. While the Hotel Lobby is indeed large, it is on the whole received as a very positive impact on arrival to the hotel property. It is disappointing that the service was not to usual standards, but...
