We just loved everything about the Sandhouse Hotel! I truly hope we will be able to return again! From the moment I booked this, I've been excited! First, I just LOVE the yellow building against what you know to be, in many cases, the truth about Ireland: either a beautiful blue sky or a dark/gray/misty sky with the energy of... More

My husband and I stayed here 23 and 24 July 2015 and we loved everything about it. It's an old hotel right on the beach, exceptionally clean and very welcoming with lots of little places to sit and relax! There's even a little outdoor patio on the second floor where you can sit and have a drink while listening to... More

My husband and I have stayed in many hotels but keep coming back to the Sandhouse. This time we stayed for 10 days. The views of the beach from the bedroom windows is stunning, a surfer's paradise not forgetting the amazing sunsets. The food is excellent. The staff are warm and friendly while remaining professional at what they do. I... More

This is a hotel, close to the beach, in Donegal. It's in Rossnowlagh - a surfer's spot - so is very laid back and casual. Shorts and flip-flops are absolutely OK in all parts of the hotel. We loved it. The hotel itself is a little battered from the elements, but the rooms are spotless and well equipped. The restaurant... More

Have stayed at the hotel many times over the last ten years and always look forward to our stay. We were booked in for 2 nights B&B and 1 dinner. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Quality of food is excellent - portions are very generous. Delicious fresh seafood for dinner from a very comprehensive table d'hote menu with lots... More

Stayed with group of friends, come with young children.. Love this hotel, it is quaint and maybe lacks polish-creaky stairs for ex!-but this adds to the charm and character. Hotel reception were very accommodating as some of our large party were arriving and departing at different times and some didn't use all of the accommodation days that they had booked. Hotel... Just back from a 2 day stay, we felt it was excellent. The room was spacious and nicely appointed, the view was wonderful, the food was good and the staff were lovely. I would recommend it, just remember it is old world with things like creaky stairs, not state of the art modern. That said we loved are stay, with... More

Third year and booked again for next year. Excellent hotel. Location is right on a magnificent beach. Food fabulous and staff are great. Owner is always hovering around checking to see if everything is in tip top condition. Don't miss this hidden gem.
