Great hotel. Fantastic staff, food and location. Current owner has been there for the last couple of years and doing a great job. Updating bits and pieces as and when. There were hundreds of people using hotel last Saturday during the morning and afternoon but by 6.00pm everything had been cleaned polished and was spotless. Booked again for next year.

This hotel is situated on one of the finest beaches in Ireland and on a sunny day there are few locations that can match Rossnowlagh. After a very good dinner in the hotel it was great to stroll the beach and enjoy a long June day. From our sea view rom we watched the sunset over the and it was... More

I have just come back from a weekend in Donegall I stayed at the sand house hotel and was very impressed. The location was fantastic right on the beach. The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean with everything you could need in them the bar service was very efficient and the coffee exceptionally good. I really nice Saturday night

We have just returned from a fantastic weekend in the Sandhouse. The weather was great for a start. What a fabulous location and views over benbulbin and the donegal mountains. Enjoy the view from the glass lift, the terrace and the restaurant. The staff made the weekend for us though. Nothing was too much trouble. They were so friendly. Look... More

We visited this hotel for lunch to see if it would be a good place to stay for a few nights short break. We had read some very good reports on Tripadvisor so maybe our expectations were too high. When we asked at reception if it was posssible to have lunch we were told sharply "soup and sandwiches only" Then... More

Now that's how to do hospitality! Just spent a very relaxing 24 hours at this wonderfully old style hotel. Special mention to Bronnagh in the Marine Spa who administered one of the best treatments I've ever had and I'm a well-maintained bird! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was simply simple and wonderful! A nice relaxed... More

I recently spent two nights, June 7 and 8, at the Sandhouse Hotel in Rossnowlagh (near Donegal Town in County Donegal. It is a short distance off the N15 but the scenic drive is a lead up to a great place. I had a room overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, most of the rooms are 'seaview.' The weather happened to be... We visited the Sandhouse hotel for dinner. It was a most beautiful evening and our table overlooked the atlantic ocean. The table was well presented with the cloths ironed to perfection. There was room for everybody; tables were discreetly placed a comfortable distance apart. The salmon starter was delicious; the mains we indulged in were roast duck with a very... More

We've stayed here several times in the last decade, though not since a change of ownership put the hotel in the hands of its former manager. It offers fabulous beach and sunset views, and pretty good food. It delivered what we'd hoped and expected. The one downside is that its beginning to look like the hotel needs investment in furnishings... More

Deffo worth a stay. Take a walk to the edge of the beach and look for a wee bar that just sits on the cliff its a... More
