Stopped in with friends and had dinner at the pub. The fish was perfectly cooked along with excellently cooked veggies. The wine by the glass quality and prices were excellent. All of us felt that The Bosun has the best pub food in Co. Cork. Yes, they do have a restaurant but we decided to stay at the pub. The... More

The Bosun is out on its own . It is an extremely well run guesthouse with staff that actually are as friendly as Irish people are supposed to be. The food is absolutely perfect and varied and there is nowhere else in Ireland you will get a better pint of Murphy's stout. The rooms are quite small but very cosy... More

We had a lovely meal here with family in the restaurant area. The food and services was excellent. It was just fabulous and we will be going back again soon. I would recommend the restaurant for a quiet meal but the bar food is just as good for a more casual meal.

I was here for a relatives confirmation lunch. We picked from a set menu. I chose the mussels and the penne pasta dish. The food arrived relatively fast and was delicious. The garlic mussels were really to die for! For dessert I had the Raspberry Brownie cheesecake which was also very nice indeed. Service was a small bit slow but... More

We had an issue about the recipt we were overcharged for something by mistake but the waitress was very kind and got... More

I've been eating in the Bosun for many years and after a bad meal at Xmas and an ok meal this week I feel it's not what it once was. The food was good but not anything special. The fish was swimming in a butter sauce. The vegetarian penne pasta, while generous in portion size was very bland. The chicken... More

I was in that Bosun recently for dinner and was very impressed. The food was fantastic - we had fantastic seafood starters and steak for mains. High quality and generous portions. I would definitely recommend a visit.

As I live fairly near this Restaurant/ Bar I frequently dine there as it is one of these places that you can just walk into without booking in the bar / Restaurant ares It never fails to please a very good and varied menu with plenty of choices I don't think I ever had a bad meal in the Bosun
