Paid yet another visit to my favourite Cork fish restaurant, the Bosun in Passage West. My wife and I were warmly greeted in true Cork hospitable style by Nicky and Michelle, the owner and our charming waitress respectively.. We had just one course each with a couple of glasses of S.B. My wife had the Salmon which looked very attractive... More

Stayed just one night at the Bosun and we got a very warm welcome from Nicky the boss. Lovely room overlooking Monkstown and Cork harbour. The food here is excellent, a cooked breakfast of the highest quality but the strength of the menu is the seafood, beautifully fresh ,cooked to perfection and proper Irish portions. A great place to stay... More

My gf and I visited here last night for our annual xmas dinner, it was our first time to eat at this restaurant and were recommended by a friend. The bread provided in a basket before the starter was really fresh and tasty, probably ate too much of it : ) I had chicken and bacon warm salad for a... More

If your looking for top value B&B, relaxed costal atmosphere outside the city, with great food in the restaurant and personal service the Bosun is spot on. Nick the owner is hands on, always a big welcome for guests. Popular place for business visitors and travellers using the car ferry. Handy bus stop to the city at the door.

We stay regularly at the bosuns as are keen anglers and fish in the area in the winter months. The rooms are warm, clean and have all the facilities like tv, tea and coffee, great showers etc. Cracking breakfast which will set you up for the day and as I didn't like eggs with my fry I got an extra... I'm not sure, really, that the star rating system is much use to describe this place, because there were aspects I found a bit irritating and yet it has undeniable charm. We ate lunch there before booking into our rooms. A lot of money has been invested in the decor - it's delightful and just plush enough without overdoing the... More

The open prawn sandwich for lunch at the Bosun were superb. The prawns were fresh without a doubt, which is surprisingly hard to find in restaurants lately. Service was excellent. Talk a walk after lunch as the harbour in Monkstown is very pretty.

This was my second trip to Monkstown and my second time staying at the Bosun. My boyfriend and I really enjoy the hospitality. The rooms are immaculate and have the perfect view of the harbor. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I had left my charger for my phone and fit bit there when we visited in February (I... More
