The room was clean and a good size. The wall art was beautiful but I understand it differs between rooms. Although the room was nice, the best part was the spa. A huge natural hot tub and no chlorine. Larger than your average swimming pool though not as deep. Very relaxing with large change room, a sauna and a relaxation... More

We stayed at the Ion recently as part of our Honeymoon and were very much looking forward to the luxury spa hotel following a few hectic days in Reykjavic. We were met with a fairly indifferent greeting at reception; a feeling that was sadly representative of our stay thee. The design of the hotel is undoubtedly striking, as is the... More

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our 5 day trip to Iceland. What a place! The location was incredible, the food and service were exceptional and the rooms were perfect. The stunning Northern Lights Bar with it's wall to floor windows was wonderful in the evening with the soft lighting and comfy sofas allowing you to relax... More

Pricey, but that's Iceland! Great romantic break at the ION Luxury Adventure hotel, the view from room was unbeatable and unique, so special to see the sun rising at 3 in the morning (April/Spring time). Loved the hotpot outside.Great memories. Would love to come back in winter and catch the Northern Lights.

We stayed at the Ion for our Honeymoon, as it seemed like a great launching pad into Thingvellir park and most of the Golden Circle. The Ion was kind enough to put together a honeymoon package for us that consisted of champagne and dessert upon arrival and 3 course dinners while we were staying there. The Silfa Restaurant was exquisite,... More

I loved this unusual, boutique hotel in its unique setting. Great staff, great food, awesome bar, nice spa and lovely pool. Worth 1 or 2 nights max (we stayed 1 night as part of a 3 night tour of Iceland) and definitely worth hiring a car to get to as the surrounding countryside is well worth exploring. Very good base... This hotel is in a really beautiful part of the world. Or at least a bit further down the road from some stunning views. On pulling up we were a little disheartened at how close the hotel was to the power plant- half the rooms look straight at it. Getting past this and admiring the hotel from the outside, we... More

My friend and I stayed at the Ion Hotel for three nights in September (one of which was my birthday). The hotel's location near Pingvellir National Park was stunning and made for a great base camp for the sights on the Golden Circle. The hotel itself is beautifully designed and everything seemed to be of excellent quality. Our room had... More

The Ion is fabulous -- located in the middle of a national park, luxurious yet laid-back and all-around amazing. Came for a long weekend with one of my closest a girlfriends, I'd come back in a heartbeat. Location's gorgeous too! Highly recommend!

Think the website and media hype for this hotel had set me up for disappointment as my expectations (like the coverage) were high. I had booked in to the hotel with a friend for three nights during a trip to Iceland. First of all, if you are looking to stay in a modern design focused hotel outside of Reykjavik then... More
