This hotel had large rooms with twin beds and a good view of the river from our room. Happy hour was good but seating limited. The dinner was good and breakfast had some interesting choices. The staff was pleasant and very helpful.

We stayed only one night at this hotel during our 8 days long Iceland trip. As our main purpose was to spend the night comfortably, what mattered to us were the room, dinner and breakfast. Our room was okey, not very big but not too small either. There was no king size bed: two single size beds were put together... More

Wi-fi is only available in the lounge. There's a cool movie theater attached to hotel. Domingo's and Subway also part of the building. Pillows are quite flat. Two of them make up one average (not firm) one. Nice spa, massages are unique, would prefer a private massage to having several people in the room. Hotel caters pretty well to group... More

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of an OAT tour. The room was large and clean and well lit as opposed to many of the hotels we have stayed in. The included breakfast was also good. The beds are too soft for people with back problems. I asked 3 times for a bed board or piece of plywood to... More

Hotel was overall good but nothing to rave about. Rooms were clean and comfortable and service from the staff was very good. A big let down was the wi-fi which was a big disappointment, service was very patchy and the only place you could get decent wi-fi (most of the time) was in the lobby. Beds were disappointing as they... More

We stayed here over a week end doing the Golden circle tour by car. Selfos is a good base for doing just that. The hotel was as expected with ok standard and service. Ok value for money. Car is recommended here.

Hotel Selfoss was fine for the 1 night we stayed, and is a reasonable stopping off point between the glaciers and the Golden Circle. Its a chain hotel and looks like one, our room was clean but nothing amazing. Wouldn't have wanted to stay more than 1 night as nothing to do in the vicinity in an evening; there are... More

Frankly, we chose this hotel purely because of the location, close to Vik. The hotel was quiet, clean and well, unremarkable. It's a clean, quiet, unassuming place to sleep and shower. It's claim to fame is that it is conveniently located to Myrdalsjokull Glacier, the largest glacier in Iceland. Nice for a glacier walk. Also the lava black sand beach... More

Relatively inexpensive decent lodging. Hotel is worn around the edges and needs some serious maintenance. However, it was clean. Do not expect much personal attention. My wife said that it looked like every employee was nervous, afraid their next paycheck might bounce. If you go demand a room with a view of the river and if you do not get... More
