When we arrived our booking had been lost despite a confirmation email and follow-up phone call - we would have been sleeping on a bench next to Strokkur if we'd arrived any later (we arrived at 1800). We had booked a "luxury" room and luckily one was available. However, not one with a view of a valley like i'd requested,... more

My wife and I had a luxury room booked for the first night of our vacation, but when we arrived there wasn't one available. She put us in a room at a building just a short walk away that was attached to a golf course pro shop (got room key from pro shop). Whether that's actually part of Hotel Geysir... more

Given its monopoly location in a prime tourist spot, I was expecting expense but not much else. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The room in a cabin was spacious, warm and comfortable and the location for geysir watching couldn't be better. In fact, after dinner we visited the 'hot spot' across the road. As the tour buses had all long... more

We stayed in a cabin behind the main hotel, each cabin is split into 2 separate rooms. The walls were quite thin and although we had no one staying next door to us I would imagine it would be quite noisy if there had been. The room was clean and the bathroom was functional, although it did take 10mins for... more

Having stayed less comfortable at the nearby campground a few years ago, we decided to book this time a cabin near the geothermal field. We couldn't have expected more (of course, there's always something more we could have wished...). Though the room wasn't too big, the lay-out was such it gave us more space to move around than in much... more

We stayed in this hotel only one night but we really enjoyed our room, spacious and with all comforts. The bathroom was large enough and clean, and also the breakfast was fine. The best thing is the location, just in front of the geysir!! Be carefull of the restaurant, very romantic but very expensive, also for icelandic standards!! more

You can hire a small room without insuite bathroom really cheap, but they are well furnished and to can use the thermal pool like any customer in the hotel! It is located just front Geysir complex, you only have to cross the road. more

We stayed here one night during our Iceland trip. Breakfast was not included in the room price and was expensive for what you get. The room we had was a split cabin. Overall, the room was decent. The bathroom was very small and poorly arranged. The entire complex reminded us of a typical American tourist trap with highly priced souvenirs.... more

This is a good place to stay. As others have said you are right by the geysirs and so you can see them when there are no tour buses around. Rooms are in cabins, reasonable size and quite well decorated. Management is a bit disorganised. Restaurant is good but expensive (like everywhere in Iceland). more

Decent place with duplexed cabins. I stayed in the Wedding Cabin during long stay in Iceland in June/July 07. Room was okay - comfortable and clean but a bit small. The convenience of the place just can't be beat, in my opinion. I saw Thingvellir on the way from Reykjavik, and Gulfoss is a 7 min drive from the Hotel.... more
