We were booked into the Vatnsholt via our travel agent and we weren't really expecting too much, however I have to say that it surpassed all of our expectations and will certainly be on the list for our next visit. The staff were incredibly helpful and we had the choice of a room in the main block or one of... More

We had 2 nights here staying in a room in the White House with a spa bath. Reasonable sized room with views over the farm. Very clean and the bathroom was reasonably sized too although the spa part didn't work so just a bath really with a hand held shower attachment. No room to stand up in to have a... More

We stayed at Vatnsholt for two nights in the "Suite with Jacuzzi". Very nice room. The dining / bar / "hang out" area was nice. The breakfast spread is very good -- bread, meats, cheeses, yogurts, juices, etc., and waffles! They even had American breakfast syrup (not pure maple syrup, but it did the job). Dinner was good - certainly... More

Stayed here May 2014. Was too bright to see the northern lights but the location is certainly excellent for doing so when the conditions permit. This property is located off Vatnsholt about an hour from the golden circle and just off route 1/ring road. Finding the place is fairly easy and the setting looks like something out of a travel... Very friendly staff and a great breakfast. There is only one BUT that made me a bit sad: Please release the raven into the wild and put the dog Fiona on a strict diet, she didn't look to good to be honest (Bulldog owner myself). I would urge every visitor and reviewer to say the same. Poor animals...

We recently spent four nights at Vatnsholt with a group. The setting was lovely, food and service was wonderful, accommodations were clean and comfortable. Every staff member that we interacted with was friendly and not only made sure we had what we needed, but also took time to share a little bit about their experience and Iceland with us. As... More

Really good location after doing the golden circle route rather than head back to Reykjavik. Owner very friendly and welcoming. Bar/restaurant at the place which served nice food. Very happy and had a really nice stay. Not far off route 1.....so really handy! Stayed in a cottage. Small, cosy and very clean. Definitely recommended.

We stayed here three times over the space of a week and a half travelling through Iceland because we liked it so much the first time we decided to use it as a base. Our rooms were lovely, comfortable, bright and clean with great views. Our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming to us everytime we came back. Johann is... More

Stayed here as part of the 'Discover The World' Iceland experience. The building we stayed in was a separate cabin with around 15 rooms our cabin. There are two bunk beds in the room and a table and chair behind the door. Slightly cramped but as there were only three of us we used the spare bunk bed for our... More

After a very long detor trying to get to Vatnsholt we were excited to get to the hotel we had booked 2+ months in advance. We drove up to the property and immediatly noticed its a bit run down and the small private cabin we reserved was very, very close to the other cabins. We also noticed a huge tour... More
