There were six of us enjoying the wonders of Iceland; a very beautiful place. The Hotel was well appointed and the staff friendly and accommodating. We stayed two nights. The first evening we ate at the hotel's restaurant, they had a buffet style dinner. The food was cold and tasteless. On the second evening I asked for a restaurant recommendation... More

This was our second visit to Grimsborgir and we will visit again. The house is nicely furnished and very clean and excellent for a luxurious stay. The staff go out of their way to give extra service, even calling us up once they found shoes that we left behind.

That's how it feels anyway. Really nice to have the space around you together with a superb restaurant. The hot tub set up is interesting: one really hot one and one slightly cooler one per guesthouse. We tried the former, stayed in the latter. Clean, up to together. Welcoming staff. Great to see the owner there too

a very nice location, rooms/apartments were very clean and well appointed, food was good but we were there 3 days and the buffet barely changed for breakfast or dinner, good wine list, very helpful and friendly staff. overall very good, but also very pricey

We were originally booked for two nights at the Hotel Grimsborgir Luxury Apartments and when we arrived we were so impressed we booked to stay a third night. We stayed in the studio suite attached to one of the bigger houses. It has two double bedrooms, a kitchen and an excellent shower room and shares a hot tub with the... More

We stayed in one of the hotel rooms and dined our one night there. As others have commented the rooms are fine and the buffet dinner excellent. We do not usually favor buffets but this one was exceptional both in the choice of items and the quality of each. We were in Iceland for 16 nights and felt this was... More

,,,if you like a first rate room, outstanding food, and wonderful staff. Not inexpensive, however... You would not want to stay here if budget is your first concern or if you are looking for a more "local" environment. We did no research prior to staying here. Was recommended by a travel consultant. The room was exceptionally clean and well appointed.... More

We ended up here unexpectedly when our originally planned accommodations didn't work out. From the start the staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room was huge and spotless. This isn't the low key Icelandic 'rustic' hotel. Everything here is modern and comfortable. The hot tubs outside were our favourite, they were never to busy and we always had one to... More

We came here to eat dinner and it was a buffet evening. The food was superb. We all commented that we had not been to a high class buffet before! We have meat eaters and vegetarians in our group and there was something for us all. Would thoroughly recommend. The only downside was the price of the wine which was... More

We rented a 5 bedroom home. It was decorated as you would find a luxurious beach house in the states...surrounded by a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. The house felt fresh and new. Highly recommend for a stay when exploring thus area.
