Spent four snowy days in March at this location. Its a mix of hotel rooms and apartments with a central hub for the hotel and dinning area. Location is superb - a few kilometres from the Main circular route around Iceland - feels pretty secluded but there are other properties in walking distance. Amazing night skies and very little light... More

We stayed here in hopes of seeing the Northern Lights out in the countryside. They didn't show up, but we loved our stay. Although the site was not complete (more accommodation was in the process of being built at the time of our stay) this did not effect our stay. The views form our room and the restaurant were fantastic... More

What a location! Gorgeous Iceland accomadation. We spent 3 nights at Hotel Grimsborgir. Located at the doorstep to many main attractions, we stayed in an apartment and were not disappointed. Very clean and new, with wonderful views and complete silence. Having the apartment meant after very full days out and about, we weren't confined to a hotel room, we could... More

Hotel Grimsborgir is a place out in the country. Quiet and peaceful. This hotel is run by a staff and owners who care about service. We had 2 families, 5 people, staying in house #3 for 4 nights. We had plenty of room. The house was clean, new, and very comfortable. The kitchen had cooking equipment, but no food staples of... More

We visited Iceland in February and couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at Hotel Grimsborgir. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was very clean and well stocked. I got to see the northern lights for my first time right outside on the porch of our room! Breakfast was delicious and lively, dining by candlelight with... More

My husband and I went to Iceland this past February and stayed for 4 nights at Hotel grimsborgir, and it was amazing. Everything was perfect, service, cottage, people, food... Everything!!! I would recommend this place to everybody I know. We stayed at the cottage. It had 4 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 2 tv rooms, dining area and kitchen. It was just... More

We stayed at Grimsborgir on Friday and Saturday night. The 2 bedroom suite was perfect for us and it was a great location to explore that part of Iceland. The staff were great - very friendly and very happy to talk through the local area and places to visit. We ate at the both evenings and the food was delicious.... More

I can't say enough nice things about the Hotel Grimsborgir. There is such pride in ownership that is evident in the entire establishment. We were welcomed by Olafur, one of the owners. He showed us our incredibly spacious 4 bedroom house and gave us the lay of the land. It was so nice to have that much space for our... More

First, make sure you print directions to take with you. I forgot and assumed the property was in Selfoss, but it's a few miles outside of town. But we asked around and found it after a little trial and error. It's a nice location, on the road to Thingvellir National Park. And it's dark, so you can see the Northern... More

Dear guests from Florida, thank you for your review, we really appreciate it. It is nice to hear that you liked your stay with us and that you are planning to come back. Of course we would like to apologize for the cigarette smell which is really unacceptable and I can only imagine that it spoiled your stay quite a... More

We recently travelled to Iceland. My husband and I arrived on a Wednesday night, and our son and his wife arrived on Thursday. We had booked the double room suite but on arrival we were upgraded to the beautiful 4 bedroom suite with such lovely facilities. We had dinner at the restaurant which was delicious and even though we had... More
