This truly is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Clean. Beautiful. Wonderful location. Kind and friendly staff. It truly is "a home away from home". I cannot wait to come back to this hotel! If you can, reserve house number 15 which is a large 4 room home with every amenity you can imagine. Just like... More

We just returned from a 5 day stay and the Grimsborgir was the perfect base for our adventure in Iceland. It was very clean and the modern decoration was nice and comfortable. The staff was above and beyond with how friendly and accommodating they were. You should definitely rent a 4x4 though because the roads can be a bit dicey... More

Nice hotel, lovely peaceful location, everything seems very new and clean. Staff was friendly. Placed on route between Reykiavik and the Golden Triangle (the Parliment Fields, Gullfoss and the Geysir) so very convenient for exploring the very beautiful area. Far enough from town to see the Northern Lights should they make appearance. The outside hot tub with view of mountains... More

We stayed here to get away from Reykjavik for one evening and to hopefully witness the amazing Northern Lights. The hotel was excellent, with clean spacious rooms, superbly comfortable beds, and a huge en-suite with a bath. Not as you need the bath though as you have access to hot-tubs 24 hours which are excellent, especially when waiting for the... More

Well, apon arrival we were given a complementary upgrade to the most beautiful one bedroom suite. The hotel owner was so lovely and gave us a detailed explanation of the area with tips on what to see. The room at its own private spa bath outside which was just beyond amazing. Drinking wine and watching the sun set was unforgettable.... More

Stayed for 3 nights in February . Clean comfortable rooms with nice outlook . Plenty of food to select for the buffet breakfast and good quality. We had evening meals there. Only a buffet was available but again an excellent selection of food. Only minor gripe was the food did not change much over the nights.

We stayed here for 1 week. It's a bit of a journey if you arrive in Iceland in the dark, we hired a 4x4 which is necessary if you want to get about yourself. However well worth it. The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation is wonderful. Very modern and exceptionally clean, comfy beds, plenty of... More

An excellent location so long as you have your own transport, as it is located a few miles away from Selfoss. The buildings are still new and everything in excellent condition. Rooms are comfortable, modern and warm, but on the small side if you are staying for a few days (no apartments were free on our dates). Staff are all... More

There is very little we can fault this place. So much love and effort has gone into every piece of it. The food is exceptional, not just taste, but quality too- always fresh. It's worth having dinner every night you're there. The location is great, it's so peaceful and untouched. The best way to appreciate iceland. We did all the... More
