During my trip to Iceland I stayed at 6 hotels and this was by far the nicest. The facility is new. Rooms are clean and spacious with large bathrooms. Considering how nice it was compared to other Icelandic hotels, price is acceptable. Great buffet. Tremendous selection of fish and appetizers, with nice carving station . Downside was that Wine list... More

Lovely new hotel. We arrived late and walked straight into the airy dining room the picture windows giving onto the lovely view woth a jazz combo playing. Lovely and surreal. The buffet was tasty and the chefs were creative and proud: 4 ways with barley, lots of fish. We then followed the receptionist in her car to our room. She... More

Hotel Grimsborgir did not meet our expectations. It sells itself as a 4 * hotel, but unfortunately we have a few critical remarks. Our room had a window without a curtain adjacent to a footpath. The wardrobe had only two shelves, of which the top was too high to be able to use it. On the few hangers could furthermore... More

I am a local and this was my first stay at Grimsborgir. I had heard stories about this place so I was excited to try myself along with my fiance. I must say I was stunned when we entered our room. It was like a fairytale. Spacious room and a stunning bathroom with all the necessities. We had access to... More

A beautiful country hotel - beautiful rooms and surrounded by the stunning Icelandic scenery. A super breakfast and lovely evening buffet and for the most part staff who go out their way to help although they get stretched when the dining room fills. A few more smiles at reception would have been nice but they are friendly when approached. The... More

We stayed at this hotel for one night while on a Backroads tour in Iceland. The hotel was very comfortable, the rooms well-sized, bright and simply appointed. Breakfast buffet was very good. It had less of a feel of a hotel, than a condo building . . . we were told that this was originally a development of summer homes,... More

Grimsborgir is a nice little hotel, very well located to tour the Golden Circle. Rooms were modern and comfortable. From some of the other reviews, it seems some of the rooms have great views, we faced the road unfortunately. Ive taken off 2 stars because of a few reasons - the water pressure in our bathroom was non-existent; literally a... More

We have visited Iceland many times before but this was our first stay at Grimsborgir and it will not be our last! Our apartment was amazing, it had everything we required and was very comfortable. During our stay we went on an all day fishing trip and upon request prior to arrival, our hotel organised delicious packed lunches for us... More

We had the best time there. The studio house we had was amazing. Clean spacious rooms with the best view of the mountains. Highly recommend this place. Owners and staff were great. Anyone getting married go here you'll have best experience.

Very nice hotel with cosy rooms which were well maintained. Access to plenty of hot tubs. Seems to be a limited number of rooms that sleep four, so a family needs to take two rooms which can be expensive. Food was fantastic and taking time over breakfast is a must.
