Very nice hotel with cosy rooms which were well maintained. Access to plenty of hot tubs. Seems to be a limited number of rooms that sleep four, so a family needs to take two rooms which can be expensive. Food was fantastic and taking time over breakfast is a must.

Rooms look great from the outside. Has 4 small square thermal pools outside per building. Each building probably has about 10 rooms. Once you enter to the room, it looks modern and clean. Unfortunately, there're no bathrobes or slippers. Was inconvenient to use the thermal pool. Toilet paper holder is of awkward position. I've to shift it away. It provides... More

We were based here for 3 nights to see many sights on the South Shore and into the Highlands. Great location for touring each day. We were in a studio apartment which gave us a mini kitchen, small living room area, 2 bedrooms and a very nice bathroom. The room was excellent and would have worked well for a family... More

Very nice hotel close to Selfoss. Very easy and convenient to access. Almost new and very well equipped rooms. Good breakfast buffet. We had buffet dinner which was very decent and reasonably priced. Overall, a nice experience for a luxury overnight stay.

Our experience, at least on night one, with this hotel was pretty much perfect; we're staying here at the end of a two week circuit around the country and decided to pamper ourselves. So far the service and amenities have been impeccable! We were actually braced for the worst after some of the recent negative reviews and were stunned by... More

In selecting this hotel, we read many reviews that described the hotel as a group of spacious apartments. Instead, we arrived to find ourselves in a new block of very basic standard rooms. They were so new that the walkways around them weren't complete. A patch of recently placed sod in front looked dead and construction rubble was apparent. The... More

More a Motel than a Hotel it Comes as a surprise, nice, sleek rooms with small terraces, and even if they all face parking lots, the Management treis hard to beautify the surroundings. Unfortunately the have a dinner buffet and no a la carte, but the bar area is cosy and all over all it is a good base to... More

Hotel Grimsborgir was an interesting experience. They bill themselves as a "luxury" destination, and I guess some of the villas have elaborate suite/apartment setups. We were in a double room (all that was available when I booked) and it was not what I'd consider luxurious, except price-wise. The decor was odd .. pale pastels and lots of mirrors, weirdly combined... More

Ok, there have been some great reviews of this hotel. My experience of 3 days with my family was generally good, but there are a few "buts". First the location: if you have rented a car and wish to vist the main attractions of Iceland's golden circle, this is perfect. The Kedir crater, the Thingvellir park, the Laugarvatn Fontana baths,... More
