We can't say enough about this accommodation and its wonderful owner, Olafur Laufdal. The apartment was booked through our package with Nordic Visitor (see our review on that too), and we had the best and most comfortable lodging here of our week long stay in Iceland. The dinner was perfect, the breakfast delicious. We loved sitting in the hot tub...

Great location, fairly near Thingvellir, Gulfoss and Geysir. We arrived late and were tired, but were greeted by the extremely pleasant owner/manager, who offered us a table at the restaurant even though the kitchen must have been closing. The guesthouse is so comfortable, immaculately kept and felt luxurious - we sadly didn't have time to use the hot tub outside...

Stayed here for a few days with my girlfriend on a weeklong trip round Iceland, found the hotel on the Iceland Farm Hotels website. The hotel is fantastic, several small buildings spread over a small area near a lake, big comfy beds (an important point for a taller gentleman such as myself), and is the ideal location for a self-drive...

I´ve stayed at the Grimsborgir Luxury Apartments now for three times and it just keeps getting better and better. These apartments have an excellent location near Þingvellir national park which means short driving distances to all of the highlights on the Golden Circle route!
The apartments are decorated in a charming way and after experiencing quite many hotels in Iceland,...

I highly recommend Grimsborgir to anyone who is planning a trip to Iceland. A lot of people get caught up in the capital and don't venture out into the wilderness unless if it is for a day trip or tour. I was, however, extremely fortunate enough to discover this place and spend a night there with my girlfriend amidst our...

We've recently spent our honeymoon in South Iceland and Grimsbogir was probably one of the best places we stayed at. Located nicely near the main attractions of the area. We stayed there for 2 nights and found that the owner and staff were very helpful and friendly- my husband asked a staff about how to operate the hot tub and...

We only spent one night here on a short trip to Iceland. A really well-appointed apartment and a good place to get away from all the city lights and noise (though perhaps a touch more external lighting than really necessary).
A very relaxed atmosphere and warm welcome.

This trip to Iceland, our first, was a surprise for my partner. I had booked a self-drive tour through Nordic Traveller around the south coast of Iceland. On arrival, we received our 4-wheel drive, a mobile phone, GPS and a pile of maps with an itinerary which included pre-booked accommodation. Over the course of our seven night trip to Iceland,...

We had an extended family group of 12. Two cottages provided more than enough room. These guesthouses are spacious, new, and nicely furnished. The full kitchens allowed us to eat in a few of the nights. The restaurant on the premises was excellent. You are really out in the country here, and the views are stunning in all directions. The...
