I do not know if we were simply unlucky, but it seems be just not good place. Very tired building, catering large tourist groups on tour. Rooms in bad condition, even a little smelly, which is uncommon in Iceland. Bathroom in really bad shape - such that you wanted to escape from under the shower as soon as possible. Breakfast... Rather sceptical about a pop up hotel in a junior college but it works. Edda had tried hard, and succeeded, in making this into a hotel. The room was fine and the staff really helpful and friendly. Great place to stop when travelling around. Breakfast was good.

We did some research and booked well in advance so got a good rate for this hotel and knew that it was student accommodation utilised for the tourist season. The room was clean and had everything we needed, toiletries, hair dryer etc. The bathroom was small but clean and served the purpose. There wasn't a TV or phone in the... More

Used as a high school dormitory for most of the year, this is conveted to an hotel for summer at vacation time. Rooms are perfectly functional, but for the price you'd really expect more. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The hotel is completely no-frills, just a small bedroom and a small bathroom, ok for two people (during the school year, it is used as student accomodation for the nearby university). When you analyze the price, however, you understand why this is not an acceptable hotel, as you pay the price of a 5* hotel in a big city (NY,... More

We stayed here two nights as part of our drive around the island package. The hotel is clean but lacks frills. The draperies do not block out the sun and there is no TV or WiFi in the room. The beds are comfortable and the room is adequately large enough for two people. The bathroom is small with shower only.... More

This is students' accommodation the rest of the year - the entrance felt a lot like a school reception and the rooms were functional but it was perfectly acceptable. The communal areas had been kitted with nice leather sofas and armchairs and the restaurant was well set out. Main gripe was a very tiny shower Breakfast was plentiful with fresh... More

We paid 146€ for a bit more than a hostel accomodation, by fare the less comfortable of all the places we stayed in Iceland, but for a REALLY high price. Furnishing very basic to say the least, the bathroom looks like the toilet of a train - very small, all plastic and really uncomfortable shower. Cons: clean, very nice view... More

We understand that this is a summer hotel used as lodging for students during the rest of the year. This was evidenced by the rather functional nature if the rooms. The communal spaces of the hotel had a spacious, more upmarket feel, and the excellent included buffet breakfast was served in a spacious and appealing dining room. However wifi service... More

This hotel is a boarding school outside the summer months, so it is quite different to stay in a boarding school room. I was given a disabled access room, which was large and bright, and very clean. Large bathroom with shower, also very clean. Breakfast was a surprise, extensive options and large bright sunny room. You really need a car... More
