Very cozy building that houses 6 rooms. Reception is just up the hill at the owners home. The room is modern, clean, and had the largest bathroom so far of my time in Iceland. Nice porch outside if the weather is nice.

Only 2 Km outside Egilstadir, the hotel is worth the price. Clean and neat, not very large rooms though. Our room was nicely green painted with some romantic heart on the door. You can help yourself with tea and coffee for free. The fridge is also available. No breakfast possible but there is a bakery just 300 meters away

We stayed one night in Vinland and really enjoyed it. The rooms are modern and very well maintained. Although they are not large we stayed in some other places that were much smaller. We managed to seat 4 of us at the table in our room to play cards in the evening. The owner was very helpful suggesting where to... More

Unlike the unkind March review, we actually stayed a night at this location. The room was a little cramped and didn't offer breakfast, but it was the least expensive night in our three weeks in Iceland. What the place did offer was a good night of quiet sleep. With a refrigerator and microwave, just bring something to fix when you... More

Vinland Guesthouse provided a quieter stay than one in the heart of Egilstaddir. After driving from Hofn through the East Fjords (a sandstorm AND snowstorm), we were eager to park the 4x4 and chill-out. Be advised that you are well outside of town, though there is a small bakery and kaffi shop nearby. Knowing we didn't want to head back... More

Having lost all sense of time because of Icelands midnight sun we pulled into Vinland Guesthouse around 10:00 pm for an overnight stay after a long day of driving the Ring Road. Lucky for us we were greeted by the owner Binni who could not have been more welcoming and lead us to a gorgeous newly renovated room that looked... More

Although the building looks like a tin hut there are three rooms on each side and a little decking to sit out on and enjoy the view. The room was spotless, cosy and had everything you needed for a nights rest. There were tea and coffee making things as well as a microwave. The owner was very helpful and told... More

The hardest thing in Iceland when travelling around was finding places to sleep. Most places are booked in advance. But as I like to get up in the morning and making the daytrip plan over the coffee I had not made any bookings. Which most of the time left me obly one choice for sleeping indoors for the next night... More

The location itself is very beautiful. It is 2 km away from city center. Very easy to find, the exit is well signed driving route 1. The appartment is new refurbished but tiny. It is clean and a good option for relaxing after a long drive or a exhausting day hiking. There is no breakfast service, but the owner will... More

I think that Lotus Boy should have at least looked at the rooms. This is a really nice little hotel. There are six rooms - three on each side of the building. It looked really small at first but the room was actually a good size. I found the owner to be friendly - although, the smell of his fish... More
