This is a wonderfully quaint hotel right on the harbor. It's wooden structure is a relief from the concrete hotels that seem to propagate Iceland, and the rooms feel more like a Colorado cabin than a hotel. It has a cozy bar, and the restaurant is light and airy (it was sunny when we were here, however). We had the... More

We stayed at Hotel Framtid for 2 nights in March 2015 for our 'solar eclipse special'. A lovely small hotel set in the attractive fishing village of Djupivogur. Very comfortable rooms - wood pannelled, and a restaurant overlooking the harbour. The staff made us feel very welcome, even when the hotel was full of eclipse watchers! The food was really... More

A lovely hotel in a quiet small town. The main hotel building is old, which is unusual in Iceland, with comfortable rooms. The food is good with the usual limited menu of fish, lamb and pizza. The staff are friendly and the hotel has a cosy feel.

During our stay in Reykjavik we drove across to Djupivogur to catch the eclipse (or hoped to but clouds scuppered that) and stayed a night in Hotel Framtid the night before. Lovely friendly welcome, great clean rooms and very reasonably priced. We'd read about the quality of their Pizzas on here beforehand so were keen to sample these delights for... More

So Hotel Framtid and Guesthouse Framtid are combined on this listing, probably because they're owned by the same people. They're *very* different, though. The guesthouse is a hostel and it's a few blocks away from the hotel and any supervision. Like everywhere in Iceland, the vast majority of hotel staff are foreigners who speak English and want summer jobs. No... More

We loved this hotel! We went all around Iceland and stayed in 12 different hotels and this one was by far our favorite hotel. Plus, we loved the little town and the staff at the hotel. The hotel had a log cabin feel and our room was spacious and clean. This was a 4 star quality hotel. The breakfast was... More

had a wonderful stay here during off-peak season. Excellent restaurant, seafood soup and pizzas were delicious. Buffet breakfast served too. Rooms were big with wifi free. Helpful and friendly staff too. Worth a stay.

Everything was ok, but there was no one reminding me that there would be no hot water for showering, why? Is this because you were too busy with a big group of travelers and I was just a negligible small potato? I got a cold, what a pity~ I warned my family, and so they had to wake up early... More

We stayed one night, arriving early as a result of the awful weather. Nevertheless we were made welcome and were able to check in an hour and a half early. The hotel is pleasantly situated by the harbour and we were able to walk up around in the evening after dinner, when it finally stopped raining . The lamb at... More

I have zero real issues with my experience during a 1 night stay at Hotel Framtid. I only am giving it 3 stars as opposed to more to accurately show that this is not a super classy or high-end accommodation. However, what it is indeed is a comfy, clean, friendly and welcoming Inn in the middle of a very quiet... More
