Over the three nights we stayed here, we found this hotel to be very comfortable and homely. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was upstairs and large with a superb view overlooking Lake Myvatn. Coffee and tea were always available in one of the lounges. The hotel, however, does not do an evening meal. This, if desired, has... More

We stayed at this hotel for two nights during our fly-drive trip to Iceland. It is a lovely small hotel with a nice siiting/breakfast room with great views down to the lake. It only has nine rooms so is quiet and friendly. The bedrooms were small but well furnished and ours were on the back so had great views of... More

The hotel is in a superb location, right on the edge of Myvatn (which fully earns its name - Midge Lake - in June) but overall was disappointing, being rather tired and shabby. Our room was cramped, the smallest of our trip, with the double bed wedged up tight against the wall and nowhere to put our cases, which ended... More

Charming little hotel with spacious rooms. The location is on the lake with great views and very close to attractions in the region. High personal touch to all aspects of their service. Loved this place and would not hesitate in recommending them each time

A lovely little hotel with clean and spacious rooms. Sadly our room was on the side but we enjoyed sitting in the area on the upper landing which had good views the lake. A nice idea ! Breakfast was very good with an excellent range on offer and we didn't even take up the hot choice. Free coffee and biscuits... More

This hotel looks as if it has been built to withstand the extremes of Icelandic weather. We were given a top floor room with stunning views over the lake, but we sat (and chatted) on the upper landing which had been converted into a small seating are with views over the lake, perfect if waiting for sunset! Breakfast was excellent... More

This was a wonderful place--very charming, spacious clean rooms, and very accommodating staff. They arranged for an early breakfast for us, provided information on hiking and running trails, and their sister hotel had an excellent restaurant. A great place in an unexpected location.

Lovely little hotel. Amazing view over the lake from our spotlessly clean room. Friendly staff. Free coffee and biscuits available in the lounge. Nice choice of food available for breakfast. Highly recommended. Wish we could have stayed longer.

After a long day of driving back roads in some of the world's most beautiful country it was pleasant to sink into a soft terrycloth robe and lounge in a large, comfortable room. Of course this was also after having taken a five hour walk to visit a not so nearby volcano and natural hot spring area. The staff is... More

We stayed here in February 2014. Myvatn was cold, and snowy, and quite beautiful. There was a mix up with the reservation (because of a storm, the roads were impassable on the day we were originally scheduled to arrive). The initial desk clerk was exceedingly rude. But once this got sorted out by the manager, the stay was quite pleasant.... More
