Stayed overnight here while touring the ring road around Iceland. Not a fan, here's why: 1) Overall not clean. 2) The shower is open to the floor of the bathroom and literally floods the place when you use it. Combined with item (1), this becomes absolutely disgusting. They provide you with a giant squeegee to clean the bathroom after yourself,... More

The hotel was comfortable and quiet and the bath was en suite. The office staff was very helpful and breakfast was plentiful. The location was fabulous and we had a view of the lake. It was expensive compared to other places we stayed in Iceland but this is the "high rent district".

The hotel is excellently located for a trip around Lake Myvatn. The check in was easy. The rooms are nice. But, there are no screens on the windows. The windows/entire wall of the hotel is covered with thousands of black bugs (hence the name of the area Myvatn, which means gnat). The front desk person tried to tell me that... More

We stayed at Hotel Reynihlid while birding in the Lake Myvatn area. We were tired after the drive to the area and felt so welcomed the moment we walked through the doors. The restaurant was excellent, rooms huge, bathroom large, and beds comfortable. This is more of a "European-style" hotel than smaller Icelandic hotels. Very welcome for us during our... More

The restaurant and bar areas seem to have had a welcome facelift, but our room was pokey and tired with a below average shower. We did have a lake view though, and the hotel is very close to the nature baths. The breakfast was the best we had - a huge selection of excellent cereals, nuts, seeds and fruits, plus... More

My partner and I decided last minute to stay here since we had been camping all week and the flies in this area were pestering us. It is a very nice hotel, we booked a double bed which was comfortable and the bathroom was really clean. There was free wifi and TV, and other amenities that we didn't use. One... More

I spent one night in this hotel during my 15-day trip through Iceland. From the outside the hotel looked a bit old, but as soon as I was in my room I very much liked the hotel. Especially because I got a room at the edge of the hotel with windows to two sides. My room had two separated single... More

We didn't book this hotel but its sister hotel the Reykjahlid. On arriving at the hotel there was a sign on the door telling customers to check in at the Reynihlid! We did this thinking that we would be staying at the hotel we had originally booked but we were simply given a room at the Reynihlid. The hotels are... More

Dear guest, Thank you for your nice review! We do not make a habit of moving guests between hotels, but we had very special conditions in may due to strike in the work force, and to be able to provide full service to our guests we had to move some guests during that time. I am sorry that you did... More
