Small tight room and there is only 2 feet space in front of bed which makes it very hard to move. very thin walls -and neighbors can be heard. Visited by large groups, and breakfast is very busy and noisy. However, food choices is very good. Some staff are friendly and others are unfriendly. phone worked intermittently. A small airport... We were here in July, 2014. The hotel was excellent, we had a corner room with a lot of light, two beds, and a medium sized bathroom. But two things really made it special. First, the front desk staff couldn't be nicer! No matter who was on duty, they went out of their way to assist. One in particular (I... More

Nice property just near the lake. Rooms are simple, but clean and has free wifi. The restaurant at the hotel is supposed to be very good, but, we did not eat there. Breakfast is included in your room price. Parking is in a lot in front of the property. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Big and very good room and excellant food with a very beautiful landscape..5-10 minutes away are the Geothermal baths which are very relaxing after long day, and very good massages. Great hiking routes around the hotel by the lake.

Today we checked in. The Guy behind the lobby was very nice and welcoming. He looked the weather forecasts for us, since we needed to know what would be a good day for a flight above vulcano Bárðarbunga. He was very helpful, so our first impression started really well. The room has a nice view over the church and lava... More

My wife and I spent about $18,000 for a 10-day Iceland adventure with Nat’l Geographic. Our guides assured us that our accommodations were the best Iceland had to offer. Being in remote areas, most of our hotels, such as Fosshotel Skaftafell were situated in hamlets. For Icelanders, these hotels associated with tourist/hiking sites were above expectations. Compared to the U.S.... More

We started our Icelandic holiday here, having got a connecting flight from Keflavik to Akureyri ( - driving time from airport to hotel was about an hour.) We spent 3 nights here, & in the end wished we'd had a bit longer, as there was so much to do in the area. We had a ground floor room, which initially... More

This hotel is perfectly acceptable and accommodating. Front desk staff is nice and friendly, rooms are clean albeit small. The Mannabar in the hotel is fine but not very well stocked. If you prefer a good local brew, head across the parking lot to the Gamli for the local beer, only served there. The breakfast in the morning was better... More

Nice hotel with good rooms. Not a five star but above average with clean rooms that were of a good size for the country. Staff were helpful. Breakfast was very good with the normal offerings. Restaurant was pricey so we went across the parking lot for dinner to Gamli.

Good, modern, bright, clean hotel. Excellent breakfast buffet. We had a room at the rear of the building in the corner - looked over the hill at the back. Big room - noticed it was larger than similar double rooms on the same corridor - room had a kettle - very useful for filling a flask. Had a meal there... More
