On the main road round Myvatyn, this is an up-market hotel with typical facilities associated with its price. The room was comfortable with hot drink facilities, TV and good shower. The restaurant served good quality food for both the breakfast buffet and dinner. We had Arctic Char and Reindeer steak - at the higher price end of the menu, but... More

We loved our room at Hotel Reynihild and would recommend this very nice hotel. We would also recommend giving the desk attendant, Gardar, a raise, We were booked into their sister hotel down the road, Hotel Reykjahlid, by our tour company. Although it was lakeside, it was a big disappointment (tiny, cramped room, no amenities, no ambiance, no tv in... More

Dear guest, We are really pleased to read about your positive experience from Hótel Reynihlíð! Garðar is one of our whole-year-around staff and one of our greatast staff-asset. You are always welcome again! Best regards, Þuríður P. More

This hotel is a bit dated but is kept clean and the beds are comfortable. Free breakfast was above average. The restaurant is a good option for the area with good service. Good location as a jumping off point to all the things to do around Lake Myvatn.

Never even made it through the door. My wife and I were in the parking lot next to our car organizing our bags prior to going inside. Next a hotel employee came out and told us we were not allowed to be there?! He didn't even ask if we were staying there or what we were doing. Apparently it makes... More

Dear Jamie J Many tanks for your review. The problem is you where never booked a room with us nor intended to say with us. You did unpack, from your mobile home, your camping gear on our parking place and we kindly asked you no to do so. Hope you have a nice holiday in Icelandic Camping fields. Kind regards More

We spent two nights here - and used it as our base to explore this exciting and beautiful area The hotel is well positioned, comfortable and well kept. The added bonus is the excellent restaurant - with local produce featured. Make sure you book to get a table. We stayed in room 101 - on the ground floor - it... More

We had 2 double rooms, one of which was significantly bigger than the other with a large window. Both were clean and comfortable and had everything you needed for a short stay but perhaps rather basic for the price paid - although as accommodation is very limited at Myvatn I suppose they can charge higher prices. Staff were friendly and... More

Earlier in July me and my friends arrived at Myvatn not knowing what to expect from the hotels nearby. The stay at Hotel Reynihlid was really surprising to say the least from what I've experienced here in Iceland. The staff was incredibly helpful and assisted us with everything we needed, they were polite and even though it had been a... More

Stayed overnight here while touring the ring road around Iceland. Not a fan, here's why: 1) Overall not clean. 2) The shower is open to the floor of the bathroom and literally floods the place when you use it. Combined with item (1), this becomes absolutely disgusting. They provide you with a giant squeegee to clean the bathroom after yourself,... More

The hotel was comfortable and quiet and the bath was en suite. The office staff was very helpful and breakfast was plentiful. The location was fabulous and we had a view of the lake. It was expensive compared to other places we stayed in Iceland but this is the "high rent district".

The hotel is excellently located for a trip around Lake Myvatn. The check in was easy. The rooms are nice. But, there are no screens on the windows. The windows/entire wall of the hotel is covered with thousands of black bugs (hence the name of the area Myvatn, which means gnat). The front desk person tried to tell me that... More

Dear guest! Thank you for your review and comments. For this area not hotels, guesthouses or homes usually have window screens, the midgets (the flies that are our trademark ;) Usually do not live for along time if they fly in, and they stay in the windows. But we will take this into consideration and try to have a solution... More
