We very much enjoyed our two night stay at this hotel. On arrival we were allocated Room 101 (perhaps they were trying to tell us something!). Although this was very close to reception it was quiet and comfortable. The bathroom wasn’t very large but it was spotlessly clean and the bedroom decoration was very pleasant. We didn’t have much of... more

this hotel has a great location being right on the edge of Lake Myvatn. its very close to all the amenities in the town of Reykjahlid so serves as an ideal stop for the region. the rooms are comfortable and roomy and the staff is very helpful. we noticed that the hotel was given 4 stars by the Iceland tourist... more

We stayed here twice in May 2007, as part of a tour of North and East Iceland booked through Discover the World. This was our second trip to Iceland (having done the South a couple of years earlier) and this hotel rates as the best we have stayed at in Iceland by quite some way. The hotel is in a... more

Went to Hotel Reynihlid on the recommendation of a friend. If you are looking for warm and comfortable lodging in one of the most picturesque locations on the planet, I highly recommend this place. Rooms were clean and cozy with views not to be believed. Staff were remarkably attentive from check in to check out. Proprietors went the extra mile... more

The food was absolutely fresh, original and scrumptious. I still salivate slightly thinking about the asparagus soup and the freshly made, steaming bread I devoured one afternoon. Plus, the fish was perfectly cooked (which for me is awesome cause I dont eat red meat. the people I travelled with seemed to enjoy the various dishes of red meat they ate... more

We have stayed at this hotel twice, once in 2005 and again in 2007. When we first stayed in 2005 the hotel was rated 2/3 stars and that is what the rooms were but the restaurant was better than this. Staying this year the hotel is now rated as 4 star. A lot of work has been done to the... more

We booked this hotel 6 months ago and when we arrived they had given our 2 rooms to a coach party and sent us to a lower standard hotel nearby. Unprofessional, untrustworthy and the lowest of the low! I will try to launch a complaint with local business if I can. In the meanwhile, BOOK AT YOUR PERIL! more

We stayed in Myvatn for two nights during our two week tour of Iceland. As family of 4 with two teenagers we booked two twin rooms, and we were disappointed to be allocated rooms at opposite ends of the hotel. Maybe this is because we prebooked an excellent rate some 6 months previously via [--], but it was rather dissapointing.... more

We booked into this hotel in the belief that it was of a 4-star standard but were very disappointed. The general standard of the rooms was poor and the cleanliness left a lot to be desired! The room was not properly cleaned during the day (bin not emptied, bathroom not cleaned, floor not vacuumed/washed, etc). The restaurant dinner menu was... more

Modern hotel with excellent friendly and attentive service. It has a good location, over-looking Lake Myvatn. We had a good-sized, clean and comfortable room with a sofa. The hotel has free internet access and a laundry service. Dinner was OK but lacked variety and there is a reasonable cafe next doors. Very picturesque setting and the area is definitely worth... more
