The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. The accommodation is fairly basic for the money (the room felt like a private room you might find in a good quality hostel, rather than a hotel) but Iceland is very expensive generally, so this isn't unusual. Staff were helpful and breakfast was good. The location is beautiful and overall this... More

My boyfriend and I spent only 1 night in this Guesthouse, but we wish we spent 2 nights in the area. THe guesthouse is very good. We rented a double room with private bathroom and shared kitchen, THe room was spacious and very clean. The shared kitchen was very usefull. The Guesthouse is well located and the staff is very... We stayed here a couple of weeks ago and we loved it. We were staying in one of the cottages facing the lake. Clean, comfy, warm. Excellent breakfast. The family who run the structure are very very very nice, in an icelandic way: whatever you ask they will do their best to help you out, they will solve the problem,... More

We stayed in the cabins with the shared bathroom. It was one of the only times on our trip we shared a bathroom but we did so to be able to enjoy the cabins and not blow our budget! The cabins are so sweet and quaint. They could not possibly be closer to the Lake and to all the sites... More

This one is hard to rate for us. We liked the location, the breakfast and the staff ......all excellent. We did not like the very small rooms. They were smaller than what you get on a cruise ship and were not at all welcoming. There was room for the two twin beds, two small side table and that was it.... More

A great location by the lake and also a good base for exploring Myvatn. Friendly staff and a nice breakfast including smoked trout. The shared kitchen is excellent - well equiped and loads of space. Rooms are compact but it didn't bother us as we didn't spend much time in the room. The Myvatn area is reallly interesting - lots... More

I stayed for one night. Yes, there were flies, but they were all over the area. How can you possibly blame the owners for that? Yes, they were in my room and I just squished them with a towel when I was finished getting my stuff out of the car. I usually camp in a tent, but decided to stay... More

Right beside some lovely walking trails through bizzare lava-fields and only a short drive to the nearby nature baths, this place did the job nicely, for the one night we stayed there. The cabin was basic but larger than expected and very clean, with a toilet and some cooking facilities in rooms just outside the main one. The breakfast was... More

so glad that i chose Dimmuborgir Guesthouse as the place to stay during trip to Lake Myvatn. the guesthouse is built right next to the lake shore (< 5 min walk), and we were extremely lucky to have spring-like weather when we were there, in contrast with the blizzard that happened one week before our arrival that closes all the... If you want to stay on the shores of Myvatn lake at the closest possible distance from the magic lava labyrinth of Dimmuborgir, this place is your best choice. We stayed in the big guesthouse, buth there are also different size cottages (probably they are more expensive). The rooms in the guesthouse were clean and "handy", but really "essential", anyway...
