Outdated furnishings, like all the other Amalia hotels we were at on our tour (although this seemed to be the most modern). The room was not clean, and I wiped my face with a dirty face towel. Upon complaining, we were given a bottle of wine and a basket of fruit. The fruit was not fresh, and the wine was... more

This hotel is considered locally to be an expensive and exclusive one. We got a good deal on it so it worked out well for us and we were very happy, but I do think the listed price if overly-expensive. This place was airy and spacious, with large bedrooms but generally felt a little run down. The hotel has a... more

Part of a three-day tour, this was a comfortable hotel, good rooms, but long walks. Built like an old monastery it certainly was interesting. while the location was beautiful, unless you had a car you could not get to the center of town except by cab. Location of the dining room downstairs could make for some difficulties for older people.... more

My first impression of this hotel was that it was the location used by Stanley Kubrick to shoot "The Shining"! Large reception area, huge corridors, and even axes in the corridors as firefighting equipment! The rooms were comfortable. The location of the hotel rules out going into the local village. The bar and restaurant were acceptable without being exceptional. I... more

I stayed here for one night as part of a tour of Greece. The hotel is clean and the rooms are reasonably sized and the food is nice. The pool was clean - but it would have been better without the drunken US teenagers! The hotel is not central and travellers wishing to go into the town would need a... more

This was the best of the 3 Amalia hotels we were forced to stay in during our Greek tour. The staff here were friendly and had an understanding of what customer service meant. The rooms were the usual basic Amalia room which I have said previously are not 4 star. The hotel does have a nice pool area. Bar area... more

My husband and I were surprised how large the Amalia Hotel outside of Kalambaka was. The lobby is huge and there is a beautiful pool area and two very lovely pubs. Our room was clean and pretty nice with a big bathroom and had a patio door that opened onto a green area. If you travel around Greece, you'll find... more
