We stayed three nights in Kastraki, Kalambaka and although we did not stay at the Plakias for accommodation (had already booked something else), we were fortunate enough to dine there. Nikos and his family (and extended family) were fantastic. Mama's home made cooking was sensational, EVERYONE made our meals there unforgettable, especially the extra inches around the waste. A warm... More

we were 2 families with kids, and got 4 rooms to share. the rooms upstairs were very nice with a beautiful view, and the ones downstairs were ok, all very clean and comfortable. Nikos was a great host, and his Taverna is the best we had in 2 weeks of traveling in Greece. We only spent one night on our... More

I spent only two days here and my only complaint is that I wish I had had more time to spend in this very special area. Nikos and his family are just wonderful and the attached taverna is, in my opinion, the best in town. My room was clean and comfy, with a small balcony overlooking the back of the... More

I found this place through visitmeteora.com and I loved it. The room I had was small and basic but that's all i needed. The little taverna attached to it, where meals are served, was always full (I had the best grilled lamb chops ever) and the breakfast included with the room was hearty (eggs, ham, cheese, fruit, bread, coffee). Nikos... More

I had called ahead to let them know we would be checking in late and asked if they could wait for us. We finally made it around10:30PM. As soon as we stopped the car, Nikos was there to welcome us, he had stepped away from his restaurant to greet us, take our luggage and check us in. We even had... More

We are actually here now and are so impressed we wanted to get a review on now. The cleanest most comfortable rooms, air con included. The friendliest hosts who are so helpful. We ate at the taverna attached, The Gardenia this evening and were treated to the most excellent meal with so many free extras we rolled out hardly able... More

The hotel is in the middle of this samll village. We had a quadruple bedroom that was clean but a bit small. We could see the monasteries from the balcony. It was quiet but close to the church and thus to the bells... The restaurant serves very tasteful typical greek plates. The breakfast is very copious. The owner and the personnel... More

Meteora is wonderful, and this was the perfect place to stay. The proprietor is wonderfully nice, helpful, and speaks excellent english. The hotel is squeaky clean. Their restaurant was spectacular. Would love to go again.

If you are looking for Greek hospitality & friendliness in one of the most magical places in the country then Guest House Plakias is where you should head. Opposite the church & looked down upon by the monastries that tower above, this is the best place to enjoy your stay in Meteora. On my arrival I was immediately welcomed into... More

We have stayed in Kastraki for one night and it was an excellent experience. Meteora are the natural wonder, and the Giesthouse is in the great location. The owner speaks excellent English and he also runs a tavern with delicious Greek food. Rooms are spacious, clean and with a great view to Meteora. But, who wants a good night sleep,... More
