Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during our cycling holiday, very basic, in need of refurbishment, food was ok. Set in a beautiful area, cycled to the village of Bauduen for lunch, and the village of Ste Croix.

We slept one night in Les Cavalets The hotel is very basic and old. The rooms are clean but old. We payed over €100 for one room for two with dog, view on the lac and no breakfast. This was too expensive for what we got. The rooms need a total make-over quickly. Our bed linen was pink with little... More

This hotel has possibly one of the loveliest views anywhere but it is very basic in all ways. Rooms- dated and in need of refurbishment. Patio door broken. Bitten in night. Grim. Food- average to poor with a mean breakfast with stale croissants. Everything and fries for supper plus a strange sandcastle of vegetable matter! YUK! Pool- neglected and full... More

The view over the lake is very nice. Unfortunately, the views do not make up for the shortcomings in other aspects of the hotel; the rooms have little soundproofing, the beds are uncomfortably firm, the bathrooms lack ventilation and, at least in my particular room, have severe mildew problems. The service is friendly enough, but the breakfast is lackluster. Each... More

The thing that makes this hotel attractive is the view of the lake. You can enjoy the view from your room or from the terrace, where you can breakfast, lunch and dine. Rooms are ordinary, and the food is only adequate, but service is pleasant and friendly. There is a sense of sophistication to the place, which it almost achieves.

First impressions were rather mixed some quirky aspects to the decor and layout. The staff proved themselves to be helpful and efficient. We had a room on the first floor overlooking the lake providing a spectacular panorama although we were surprised there was no air con in our room. The swimming pool itself was very pleasant but somewhat spoilt by... More

This hotel is all about the location. The views over lac ste croix are stunning. It is not a bad hotel, but it is also to stunningly good. The room was very clean, and had a nice balcony we could sit on admiring the view. Eating on the hotel terrace looking at the view was a treat. The menu was... More

This hotel is in a great location with wonderful views over the beautiful lake. It's in a very quiet spot in the middle of nowhere but if you have a car or bicycle it's easy to reach a couple of lovely little villages. Rooms are spacious enough and adequately furnished, though simple. The bathroom was clean and had a shower... More

Very nice hotel, simple but good and clean. Amazing view although we were on the back of the hotel. Which technically looks out on a motorway but with approximately 1 car an hour that you don't even hear. We arrived on a Sunday eve at 10PM and confused with the time, we had not thought to notify the staff so... More

We have stayed at Les Cavalets on several occasions over the last twenty years or so, mainly as a couple and occasionally with one or more of our three sons and their wives/girl friends. It's always a delight to return and breakfast and dine on the terrace with unsurpassed views of the lake. The rooms are tastefully decorated and well... More
