We had a very large room and bathroom, simply furnished but very in keeping with the age and style of the building, which is set in large gardens with plenty of places to wander or sit. We found Monique welcoming and friendly. I cannot understand the reviews that complain about her not speaking English - horror- a frenchwoman in a... More

We may have got lucky when we stayed here for 2 nights as part of a walking holiday - we got a big, comfortable family-type room for just the two of us. The proprietor was friendly and helpful although she always seemed busy (like there is always something going on). Her food was excellent - especially the rhubarb and strawberry... More

Beautiful large house. Monique was friendly but spoke no English. Not a problem in itself but as we do not speak much French we did feel a bit lost. For example we did not know what the format for dinner was, what time and even where to go. No choice for meal but it was very good. Drink seemed to... More

We stayed here for two nights as part of a walking holiday. I find it interesting when people have such different experiences of a place. In his book, Alistair Sawday says of this place "it feels good to be here even if you can't define the source of the positive energy ...." and describes the owner as "gentle, delicate and... More

We stayed three nights at Auberge de Reillanne last week and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This is a beautiful and very comfortable auberge in a wonderful setting, made extra special by the owner Monique Balmand's very personal touches, some reflecting her links to Nepal that others have commented upon. After a long day's walking we enjoyed the peaceful garden and... More

We have just returned from staying at Auberge de Reilanne as part of an Inn Travel walking trip in Provence. It was outstanding for the beauty and tranquillity of the house, which is so much part of the landscape and reached down a tree lined drive. We loved our stay in this intriguing house. Our room was enormous and so... More

An old auberge on the outskirts of the village of Reillane, run by a charming and fascinating woman who spends part of each year in Nepal. We spent two nights there, the first a little disappointing in a fairly basic small room, the second in a larger room which was much more elegant and charming (overlooking a pumpkin field). Both... I stopped by during a business trip in the South East of France. I had a quiet night and have appreciated the silence of Provence. The room was spacious and clean into an old house. There were no wifi in the room but the 3G signal was good enough on my handy.

Used this as part of Inntravel walking holiday. Lovely site decoration and room, handheld shower only but after walking, a bath is good. owner runs the place alone, produces good food and provides wine at a price. She uses very little English and speaks french fast so you may have to persist to understand or get understood. Used by french... More

Despite the slightly forbidding external appearance we found the old manor house tranquil and serene. We had a large room with ancient beams and a nice bathroom. The decoration reflects the proprietor's connections with Nepal. It’s about 20 minutes walk up the road to the mediaeval hilltop village of Reillanne.
