I first came with a plein air painting class and loved it. The next time I brought my husband and he agreed with me. It's quintessential French. We love the quiet village and the balcony for a glass of wine. I'm traveling there this summer for the third time this summer.

The town of Venasque lies ca 2000 m up in the mountains. Small, beautiful and cozy in the evening, with amazing panoramic views. Hotel is more like bed and breakfast. Good for 1-2 nights stand. Old rustic interiors, Wi-Fi in the breakfast room and a wonderful terrace where the owners of the hotel serve breakfast in the morning. That's it.... More

A very small hotel with only 5 rooms with a stunning view of the mountains. The owners are very hospitable and helpful. Rooms are basic but clean and very colorful. The terrace where we have breakfast (which was a simple continental breakfast) is out of this world. What a view!! The Wi-fi didn't really work and no one knew how... More

Our watercolor workshop had the pleasure of staying at this charming inn for a week. Martine and Jerome, the innkeepers, were excellent hosts and cooks. (Martine can make a mean cherry creme brulee with her blowtorch!) The common room was friendly and comfortably furnished for our group of 10 and had wi-fi, which was important to those of us who... The rooms are without A/C, but not too hot due to thick walls. We had a wonderful view from the window. The bathroom was OK, but a bit too rustic. The facility has a terrace for meals, and it offers a splendid view. The dinner we were served was excellent, but the breakfast could be better and more promptly served.... More

we loved this place. the only negative is that dinner is cooked only once a week, Saturday. otherwise, try the Remparts, also good. a small B&B, rustic, in a pleasant small town with not much going on, but convenient to many different day trips, e.g. isle sur la sorgue.

Martine and Jerome Maret, the proprietors of Les Volets Bleus, are the soul of France. Charming, knowledgable, friendly, funny, and great cooks! This B&B is perched on a hillside in one of the most beautiful villages in France. Take dinner on the terrace overlooking Mt Ventoux and you'll think you're in heaven. The rooms were roomy, comfortable and personal. This... More

We really enjoyed our stay- Venasque is a beautiful medieval hilltop town and La Maison aux Volets Bleus is a perfect starting point for taking in the country. The house is adorable and quirky, artistically and eclectically decorated- tons of character. Our room was spacious and had a fantastic view of the rolling hills and vineyards, and Mount Ventoux in... More

This is the first bed and breakfast we have chosen from Karen Brown's recommendations in which we have been disappointed. We found this b&b to be well worn and a bit dirty. The breakfasts were not stellar and portions small. The proprietor was preoccupied and not particularly warm or helpful. If we had to do it over, we would elect... More
