We stayed at Turpentine Creek RV for two nights in April, 2014. It was a very clean and level site. We visited Turpentine Creek last year in June, 2013. The animals are so much more fun to watch in the spring than in the summer time when the days are hotter. The RV site was very well priced. To be... More

We stayed overnight in the RV sites at Turpentine Creek the first week in April. This was our second visit but it won't be our last. This early in the spring, the animals were very active and out in their enclosures where they could be seen. Be sure to visit at feeding time! We especially enjoyed watching the young male... More

You will be excited to tell friends and family about your stay at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. The lodging itself is very clean, comfortable, and spacious, but the real thrill is sitting on your porch and listening to the jungle cats caroling throughout the night. A substantial healthy breakfast is provided. We stayed in the Siberian Suite... and having three... More

We visited the big cat reserve and stayed in the Tree House. Hearing the tigers roar at night is fantastic. The intern that gave us the tour of the facility was top notch. The Tree House is a little small and dated but it's a great adventure.

This place is extraordinary, there are hardly words!! The love and care they show these otherwise homeless 'kitties' is so apparent that we could feel it while our tour guide Taylor was showing us around. They're building more habitats for them and they'll be wonderful! The Siberian room was so awesome- honestly fanciest bathroom we've ever had at a hotel.... More

I stayed in the Kalahari suite and was very pleased. Everything was clean, comfortable and well-appointed. Each suite has it's own gas fireplace, which can be set to whatever temperature you like. if it gets chilly during the night, the fireplace kicks on and the rooms heats up nicely. The best part for me, by far, was listening to the... More

My wife and I spent Valentine's weekend. We were wanting a different experience and got it. The room and bed were very comfortable. Hearing the cats roar at night was incredible! The view off the back porch was beautiful. Staff is most helpful and friendly. You can get cheaper lodging in town, but not this experience. And your money helps... More

I have stayed at Turpentine a few times and love it every time! I have stayed in the tree house and in the lodges. I love the idea of the $ going to the rescue and hearing the cats throughout the night is wonderful! Can't wait to go back!

My husband and I stayed at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge from December 17-19. We booked the Siberian Suite and absolutely LOVED every minute we were there. Upon our check in, we were immediately impressed and wowed by the generosity, kindness, and help we were given from the staff about our room, the refuge, and much more. We couldn’t believe the... Your admission is good for all day, and includes a walking tour of our newly opened natural habitat areas as well as a self-guided tour of the cats in our main compound. The time you spend in the main compound can vary from 10 minutes to over an hour, depending upon how much time you spend in front of one cage or another. The walking tour of the habitat areas is about a 30 minute guided tour and they are scheduled every hour on the hour from 11:00 a.m. - 3 p.m. The self-guided portion is all walking, but there are benches throughout to rest. We do have a wheel chair to borrow if needed. The guided tour is also walking, unless special assistance is needed and we can accommodate people with a riding tour on our cart (which carries five maximum). For large groups we will be happy to put one of our staff on your bus to give you a guided tour of the large habitat areas upon special request. Most of our staff are Biologists or Zoologists that come from all over the world to learn how to work with the Big Cats. It sleeps two on a "clicker sofa" downstairs, and it has two twin beds tucked under the eaves in the loft. Generally, it is comfortable for 2 adults and 2 children. Although small, it also has full kitchen facilities, a wrap-around deck and is quiet and secluded. The cats are located only a few yards away in some of the larger enclosures. Children under 5 years old are not allowed in Tree House due to TCWR's safety policy. Our two Bed & Big Cat suites can accommodate up to four people, with a queen size bed and fold-down clicker couch. Price is$150.00/night for two, $15.00 extra for each additional person 3 or older.
