We spent 3 days and 2 nights at L'Hostellerie du Chateau and absolutely loved it! The room was clean and comfortable and the entire property looked like something out of a fairy tale! The innkeepers were both friendly and gracious and treated us like special guests. The hotel's restaurant served some of the best cuisine we've ever eaten in France.... more

Twenty-seven friends and I stayed at this hotel on the recommendation of the coach company who organise our annual trips. It was a converted castle with at least one of the rooms still having the remains of a circular staircase leading to nowhere. The rooms were variable in size but all had their own character. The manager (or maybe he... more

Found this lovely hotel/castle on the web. We only stayed one night but the staff were lovely and the open fires in the drawing room and dining room added a lovely touch - on a cold November evening. The dinner was good value and well presented and served. We stupidly left our passports and tickets behing and the staff were... more

Good location for a "jumping-off point" to visit the attractions of Normandy. Medieval ambience, including a castle tower. Rooms are small but serviceable; facing the inner courtyard is preferable to facing the road. Attractive breakfast room and NO SMOKING anywhere on the premises, a very welcome sight in France. Accomodating hostelier, who speaks English. more

We totally agree with the other trip advisor reviewers. On their recommendation we booked the Queens Room and weren't disappointed. Really comfortable room, lovely views over the inner courtyard of the old grounds, quiet, clean and well-furnished. The food and service were very good and the owners/proprietors were extremely welcoming and spoke fluent English. We would definitely return and I... more

I would like to give this place a 6 (out of 5) for its value. The deluxe room is just 10 euros more than normal and is an incredible bargain. The room is huge, nicely decorated, and though the one we had in the back does not have a view, the old large window is very sunny and lovely to... more

We've stayed at this hotel probably half a dozen times now and it really is a good find. The only note I'd give is to ensure you ask for one of the better and bigger rooms as these are lovely with mullioned windows and big old beds and much much more spacious than some of the cheaper ones. The price... more

We stayed for three days in this amazing location, sleeping in an 11th century fortress is impressive! We had room #1 and it is nice, not big but enough to be comfortable with a decent-size bathroom so it worth the extra cost. We had dinner at the restaurant twice, the food is very good and prices are reasonnable for the... more

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the past ten years and were encouraged by the news that it had changed hands a couple of years ago and that there had been some changes made. Located within the walls of the Chateau in the centre of town, the location is impressive. The food was always good,... more

Just spent three nights at this Castle/chateau hotel. Very friendly staff and great food. Rooms clean and comfortable but bear in mind that the original building is centuries old. Would recommend a room overlooking the courtyard and not the road to the rear of the property. Great base to explore and overall excellent value for money. more
