My Wife and I have stayed here several times in the past when it was only in Logis De France. However it is now one of Chateaux Hotels De France as well and on our recent visit we thought it had moved up market quite a bit.Our room was newly decorated ,had all the bits you would expect and generally was... more

We stopped over here after a very long and tiring journey and trekking holiday in the South of France... so we really appreciated the lovely quiet setting, the charm of the hosts and the sumptious sheets on the extremely comfortable beds. However I just wanted to re-itterate an earlier cautionary review... the breakfast is EUR9 per head and EUR4 for... more

Four of us stayed for a short weekend. Apart from the terrible weather, the hotel was full of atmosphere and charm in a historic setting. The room was perfecty adequate though not huge - but the bed is the most comfortable one I have slept in in a hotel for years. We all ate in the baronial hall in the... more

My girlfriend (Irish) and I (French) stayed at the hostellerie for 4 days and 3 nights, and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Arriving straight from the ferry, we could tell from the outside that it was already a winner. Located straight in tthe courtyard of the castle, the hostellerie is a lovely place, and from the minute you set... more

We stayed one night here on our way to the ferry at Cherbourg which is about 16 miles or half an hour away by car, via the D900. The hotel is an old medieval Chateau set within its own walls and very quiet and peaceful. Parking outside is easy. We were shown four quite different rooms in our (bottom) price... more

We spent 3 days and 2 nights at L'Hostellerie du Chateau and absolutely loved it! The room was clean and comfortable and the entire property looked like something out of a fairy tale! The innkeepers were both friendly and gracious and treated us like special guests. The hotel's restaurant served some of the best cuisine we've ever eaten in France.... more

Twenty-seven friends and I stayed at this hotel on the recommendation of the coach company who organise our annual trips. It was a converted castle with at least one of the rooms still having the remains of a circular staircase leading to nowhere. The rooms were variable in size but all had their own character. The manager (or maybe he... more

Found this lovely hotel/castle on the web. We only stayed one night but the staff were lovely and the open fires in the drawing room and dining room added a lovely touch - on a cold November evening. The dinner was good value and well presented and served. We stupidly left our passports and tickets behing and the staff were... more

Good location for a "jumping-off point" to visit the attractions of Normandy. Medieval ambience, including a castle tower. Rooms are small but serviceable; facing the inner courtyard is preferable to facing the road. Attractive breakfast room and NO SMOKING anywhere on the premises, a very welcome sight in France. Accomodating hostelier, who speaks English. more

We totally agree with the other trip advisor reviewers. On their recommendation we booked the Queens Room and weren't disappointed. Really comfortable room, lovely views over the inner courtyard of the old grounds, quiet, clean and well-furnished. The food and service were very good and the owners/proprietors were extremely welcoming and spoke fluent English. We would definitely return and I... more
