we founmd the Chateau on line when looking for an overnight room en route to Dieppe with more character and charm than the hotels of Evreux or Rouen. The Chateau meets this brief, with easy on line booking, without deposit and direct contact with Arnaud & Frederique, the owners. We estimated our arrival time as 5.00 pm but got there... More

We have been coming to Emalleville for many years and thoroughly recommend this entrancing place. Apart from the chateau and grounds being absolutely stunning, it has a wonderful atmosphere and is very peaceful and romantic, perfect for a few days away. There is so much to see and do in the area, but also very close to Paris, Giverney and... More

Pristine setting with expansive park, tennis court, swimming pool. Abundant apple, pear, plum trees, rose gardens and hydrangeas galore. Traveling with 3 small children well accommodated in annex with timbered ceilings, quality beds and sumptuous fabrics. No restaurant or tv. Isolated location, which could be a plus or minus depending on one's preference.

We stayed here in August with our 3 kids and it was perfect. I avoid chain hotels whenever possible and instead seek small, comfortable accommodations with personality, charm, and character. This hotel fit the bill perfectly. The rooms were large and clean. We all looked forward to coming back to the hotel each day after our outings to relax at... More

I stayed here alone on a business trip in the Paddock suite. The weather was pretty and with windows open I settled with a good book. The owner (Frederique) looked after me very well, explained the use of wifi and communicated well about breakfast times etc. It was quiet and I slept very well. Before taking off next morning I... Our third visit, twice previously in 2010, fair to say we like the place. Many fellow visitors seem to use the Chateau as a one-night stop over on route and miss out; this does not do either the area or the Chateau justice. We like it because of the facilities, but also because it is so fantastically peaceful, wonderfully rural... More

We chose this place due to its proximity to Giverny and its beauty based on the website. The owners were good to respond to our late arrival, but like others have noted on this site, we, too, were at the gate in the dark for sometime before we were allowed in. One would think if this were a problem, guests... More

We very much enjoyed our stay at Chateau d'Emalleville. We arrived in time for a delicious swim in the beautiful pool and we were invited to help ourselves to apples and pears from the many fruit trees in the grounds. We were able to choose the room we liked best from the two that were available, both were very styishly... More

We were two families of 4, one of which had stayed here about 4 years ago. We were staying in the Mailloc Suite and the Paddock Suite both on the first floor of the outhouse and stable block. These comments refer to the Paddock Suite. Upon arriving at the Chateau at about 4.45 pm, the overall impression was one of... More

The photos look great on the website but: 1. There was only one person on duty during our entire stay. We waited a long time before the intercom was answered and the gates were opened. 2. The beautiful chateau in the pictures is NOT accessible to guests, instead you'll stay in outlying buildings which vary in age and decor 3.... More
