Although we were able to stay only 2 nights at the Chateau des Ormeaux, we truly enjoyed our time and would definitely recommend it to friends. We concentrated our sightseeing mainly in Amboise and Chenonceau and we found the location was perfect for us. We booked the Vivaldi room in the Manoir because we rather like our privacy and quiet.... more

We stayed for two nights in the Chateaux and it was lovely. The staff were welcoming and the dog Vic was very friendly and bounded along with us as we walked to the nearby vineyards. Our room was beautifully decorated and the en-suite was massive. Breakfast was served at the common dining table and it was nice to chat with... more

Absolutely beautiful place, both on the outside and inside. Though not as big as the other castles, it looks like the typical fairytale castle, with its twin turrets and location high up on a wooded hill. The interior was filled with period furniture, and one can really feel as though living in a bygone past. From the opulent dining saloon... more

We stayed here last Sept. and could not have been happier! It was like a dream come true. The chateau is exquisite, and the service is wonderful. We wish we had just stayed there for the rest of the trip instead of going on to Paris. It was originally supposed to be a once in a lifetime experience for us,... more

The B&B is a delightful small chateau in a great location outside Amboise. Sadly, one of the three proprietors seemed to enjoy throwing tantrums and spending all his energy finding reasons to berate guests for not sticking to every little rule of the house. We objected to having a laptop at breakfast snapped shut being against "the rule" despite all... more

We stayed for two nights and loved every minute. We stayed in the manor house and found the room large and comfortable and quite private. We enjoyed the table on the terrace. If two couples were traveling together and could get the two manor house rooms, that would be great. It was too cold for the swimming pool, but in... more

Just returned from 3 nights at the Chateau des Ormeaux with my husband and parents. I agree with everyone else; the chateau is beautiful and your hosts are welcoming and funny. Our favorite restaurant in the area was La Croix Blanche. The food was wonderful, ambience was romantic and the service was quite friendly. It was the best meal we... more

If Sleeping Beauty had turned up in the Chateau des Ormeaux then I wouldn't have been surprised! This is not a swanky modern hotel but a countryside B & B with a lot of character and charm. It lies just a couple of miles from the pretty town of Amboise but there is no reliable public transport nearby so you'll... more
