L'Hermitage again . . typical Logis de France with unassuming street frontage, interesting gardens - "French" - down to the river, pleasant rooms and superb food. There are now two Chefs and the "second" chef seems as good as the first, who is still in post. Interesting menu, good value but not inexpensive. We spoke with a chance customer, English,... More

Turned up at L'Hermitage on spec as a stop-over on way south. Convenient distance from A20 and easy to find as it is signposted as you enter town. There was only one room left - everyone else staying this particular Wednesday night seemed to be business people - which was functional but pleasant with a view over the gardens to... More

An overnight stay for our family and didn't really know what to expect. Rooms were clean, if quirky; bathrooms - standard Logis; linen was lovely but toiletries inadequate. The hotel almost has an elegant foyer and its gardens must once have been beautiful but look like they have been little tended recently. The main dining room was fine - food... More

We stated 1 night on our way home, after holidays. The hotel looks very classy and nice. Rooms are French: not too big but stylish. Excellent matress but only 190 long.... Room was clean sn comfortable. Dinner was excellent, breakfast as you would expect in France. Nice 'park-style' garden. Pity that the vegetable/fruit garden lacks maintenance (it says the cook... Have used this hotel many times for our night stops going south or on the way home .Secure parking so no unloading your car the rooms ,service and the restaurant are to a good standard. To be able to sit in the garden before dinner and to have your evening meal outside is also very nice. The only down point... More

great little hotel, staff all well trained and helpful and food excellent, although pricey. The gardens down to the river really make this place and it clearly has a reputation locally for the restaurant. They are starting a full revamp, the reception is now very chic, and rooms will be next then the restaurant , and courtyard ( basically it's... More

Like other reviewers, we have used L'Hermitage as a regular overnight stop for many years. It has always been a treat - both under the previous owner and her predecessors. The gardens down to the Indre, the petit-château feel of the house and the first-class food in the slightly reverential dining room have always made for the most comfortable and... More

Intended to be a journey break on the way south, the stopover became memorable. The hotel was a "mature" bourgeois house in Buzançais and has become a very charming hotel. The new owner is determined to update over time and the work so far is elegant, maybe a matter of tastes. But when it came to dinner, "taste" became "an... More

We have stayed at this hotel many times on our return from France. We love the Hotel, the food is fantastic and the staff are always attentive. Although there are new owners, we were not disappointed. It does miss Madame's presence but this would not stop us returning. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The restaurant superb with amazing food... More

We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. Service was great and reactive - they agreed with a smile when we asked to move our table so as to be able to have lunch with our friends who had popped in. Food was simply amazing, with unforgettable desserts. This table really deserves its Michelin guide's "Bib Gourmand" award and is... More
