Like other reviewers, we have used L'Hermitage as a regular overnight stop for many years. It has always been a treat - both under the previous owner and her predecessors. The gardens down to the Indre, the petit-château feel of the house and the first-class food in the slightly reverential dining room have always made for the most comfortable and... More

Intended to be a journey break on the way south, the stopover became memorable. The hotel was a "mature" bourgeois house in Buzançais and has become a very charming hotel. The new owner is determined to update over time and the work so far is elegant, maybe a matter of tastes. But when it came to dinner, "taste" became "an... More

We have stayed at this hotel many times on our return from France. We love the Hotel, the food is fantastic and the staff are always attentive. Although there are new owners, we were not disappointed. It does miss Madame's presence but this would not stop us returning. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The restaurant superb with amazing food... More

We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. Service was great and reactive - they agreed with a smile when we asked to move our table so as to be able to have lunch with our friends who had popped in. Food was simply amazing, with unforgettable desserts. This table really deserves its Michelin guide's "Bib Gourmand" award and is... More

For some years, this logis has consistently been our most reliable and enjoyable pitstop on our regular journeys to and from the UK to south west France and we visit it several times a year. But, oh dear! There have been recent changes in ownership/management since our last visit last October and after our most recent visit, we are a... More

This is a lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds by the river. The room we had was pretty and very comfortable. We had a most delicious dinner in the small dining room and were made to feel very welcome. I would love to return.

A comfortable traditional hotel, set in stunning gardens which extend down to a river. The menu includes produce from the kitchen garden. A good meal with a good selection of wine. Spent a few hours sitting under a large tree, with a book and a glass of wine, and saw a red squirrel run up the tree. With the warm... More

Ideal overnight stay en route to the south of France. Quiet location with lovely garden - produce used in the kitchen and cut flowers for the tables. Friendly owners and staff, slightly quirky, dated decor but clean and comfortable. Dinner very good but agree with another reviewer that breakfast was rather expensive. Room in the main hotel was fine with... More

This was just a one night stay where we had diner but did not have breakfast. Our room was in the annexe perhaps a little bland but the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and even apologetic for having to place us in the annexe. The meal was reasonably priced with sufficient choice and was of... More

It was a quick stop off for us prior to a day in Chateauroux. Overall quality of rooms and welcome was good, the garden is really nice - the dog enjoyed it. We only had breakfast which was ok. No problems with anything but it left us a bit cold - felt as though the target audience was a bit... More
